What is a design contest?
A design contest is a competition to determine whose design will reign supreme — it’s like Iron Chef for graphic design.
The contest is run by a contest holder (the client, if you like) who needs a design project completed, be that a logo, a web page, a business card — just about anything.
The client uploads a design brief to 99designs, and over the course of a week (or less) designers from around the world compete by submitting designs matching the brief.
After providing feedback and direction to the designers to help them improve on their designs the client picks their favourite designer as the winner. The winning designer wins a cash prize and the client receives full copyright in the winning design.
