I just must say that I dont see anything against the rules here since he bought that looping video... He will just have to transfer the license to CH and its done. Same goes for the pictures...
He didnt used some free stuff and used it as his work for gods sake. I saw that behavior so many times here on Sitepoint and I honestly dont think that he did something that he shouldnt.
DeepBlue (http://www.deepblue.com/) is using the same thing. If you pay for it then - no problems. If you use some free artwork and then use it in your project its also ok BUT if youre trying to earn money on it... That sucks.

What the hell are you talking about? The water is not an effect...it is a looped video. What is Digital Art and what does "you have to use their related software to product" mean? I don't think of everyone as a fool...only you.

Jooj, can you understand this "who are doing design/code from the beginning of sketch/draft". I don't meant anywhere in previous comments about not using of Flash/Photoshop/AfterEffect dude. Make your mind CLEAR! Don't take serious wrong. If you don't know how to create the effect water in Flash, Read the book of AS3!

According to Digital Art, you have to use their related software to product. Don't think everyone as fool.

Winthan, I hope you are going out on scene and taking your own photography. That would only be fair.

Do you use Flash? Photoshop? Plugins for Photoshop? After Effects? What is the difference? What designer do you know that has the resources to go out in the field to shoot a looped water effect? I don't know any, that's why these effects are sold through effects houses like the one mentioned above. I look forward to your entry that doesn't use Flash, Photoshop or any plugins...since as you said it won't be by your hand. Should you go buy from Istock? OF COURSE...where do you think we get the pics for these designs? It is my responsibility as the designer for this contest host to use all available tools, techniques and tricks to give him the best possible product. If that means spending my own $$ on a looped water effect when the contest holder specifically asked for water to be used, then that is what I will do.

If you say so, should I go and buy from Istock gallery and make for this project. Is that allowed in Sitepoint. Read the rules of site point for designer. Without doing any part of it by your hand or your own, that prove you who you are and what you ware. Even decompiled from others site stuff are illegal too.

Well, I never feel jealous about the price, I respect the CH and others entries, Dear Jooj, My entry is not in yet. I can come in with that stuff what you used in. Everyone can also... but no way dude... I will come with my own work. Why should we buy 15$ stuff and provide the CH as 350$ and signing for as owner. Is that fair? Well, respect the one, you will get also respect, and my message doesn't meant for jealous.

In fact, winthan...you are committing infringement by posting a link to the swf file in question, thus allowing everyone who visits that link to download the flash loop. As stated above, I purchased the loop and am allowed to use it in any project I choose.
