Butchery made classy: logo designs for Rogers and Son

At 99designs, we love praising not just winning designs but ALL awesome designs. In one given contest, designers are given the same creative problem — the design brief — then decode it with their own unique design solutions.

Butchers, Rogers & Son decided to go with a feminine, young and classic look for their logo. After all, they do sell high quality meats and homemade sauces. While none of these designs won, they are inspirational and show just how many solutions there can be in a contest.

Check out these creative solutions from the Rogers & Son’s contest and let us know which ones your favorite. :)

Siv.66 focuses on illustration, so that customers can surely associate this company with its mascot. Adding simple touches like ribbons around the name completes the “luxury” look the butchery was asking for.

Designs by Ars Terra

Ars Terra’s two designs depict the Rogers and Son’s company by equally combining the name as well as the imagery: the cow in one and butcher knife in the other. The sophisticated colors complement the “High Quality Butchers” tagline he incorporated.

Taking the emphasis away from the name, Enjoythejohnny experimented with realistic illustrations to represent the company. The illustration, on the right, incorporates hands that make a pig shadow which is a concept that wasn’t provided by any other designer.

Designs by mrugank and hauteclaire (left to right)

Completely different from the rest, these designs by mrugank and hauteclaire touch the spectrum of simple to complex. Mrugank shows an abstracted cow head while hauteclaire designs a detailed cow for a more life-like look.

Thanks to all the designers for their awesome designs!
