Situation

Jay Gibb the founder of CloudSponge was unhappy with the conversion rate of the existing website and felt the company’s existing web design and logo was dated and needed to be refreshed. Jay had dealt with existing designers before and, unsatisfied with previous results, he decided to look into crowdsourcing as a solution to his company’s design problems.

After writing a brief and posting the project to the 99designs community of over 80,000 designers, CloudSponge received a fantastic response. In total, Jay received 189 unique designs to choose from for his new website design. The ability to provide feedback and work directly with the designers on 99designs meant that Jay could tailor the design concepts to suit his needs.

Unlike a regular design company, 99designs allowed Jay to get a wide range of different concepts from multiple designers. Within just 10 days this was achieved at a fraction of the cost of using a regular design service, saving the company thousands of dollars in costs.
