Update: We’re pleased to announce the winner of our design contest giveaway! We’d like to thank everyone who applied – it’s great to see so many awesome fitness-related businesses out there and it definitely made for a tough decision.
Kellie Davis from Get Glutes is going home with the prize and will soon launch a contest! Get Glutes provides online workouts for site members, with exercise tutorials, instructional videos, articles and ask the coach sessions. Kellie let us know that her New Year’s resolution was to get her website up and running, so we feel that a brand new logo – the current one is designed using PowerPoint – will help to keep up momentum. Congratulations!
While we try to stay in shape with daily group pushup sessions here at 99designs, some of us are all too aware that we haven’t quite stuck to the loftier New Year’s fitness resolutions we made a scant two months ago. But it’s not too late! For a dose of inspiration, we went in search of fantastic fitness-related designs.
As a bonus to our readers, we’re giving away one or more free contest to fitness-related companies in need of a new logo or t-shirt design! You’ll find application details at the bottom of this post, so read on.
The customers highlighted below with their new motifs include a kickboxing studio, a mobile app for workout newbies, a pole dancing center, a gym for the superhero within, a collection of CrossFit affiliated gyms, and many other sweet sweat-inducing businesses who help ordinary folks like us take it to the next level.
#1 - Amazona Fitness (Croatia) - This gym in Croatia calls itself “one of the best equipped gyms in Zagreb”. For a glimpse at how well the logo translated into a t-shirt design, take a look at Amazon’s staff in action!
#2 - Unleashed Fitness (United States) - Emily Schromm, a trainer and CrossFit competitor in Colorado, transformed into a superhero mascot for her logo design contest – because she believes we’re all superheroes. So c’mon – isn’t it time you unleash the real you?
#3 - Gracie Morumbi Kickboxing (United States) - Gracie Morumbi trainers in Camarillo, Thousand Oaks and Ventura, California, are serious about kickboxing, promising that “your body will be transformed into a lean, fit and dangerous kickboxing machine!”
#4 - PumpUp - Want to get fit but have no clue where to begin? Enter PumpUp, a digital training app that creates personalized workouts for newbies and pros alike. Have your doubt that a friendly blue guy can truly motivate? The app is featured in iTunes Top 25 Free Health & Fitness Apps!
#5 - Radical Fit (United States) - With Chris Imbo, a former University of Miami running back and well-known fitness innovator named New York’s “Best Personal Trainer by New York Magazine,” at the helm, Radical Fit endows members with ”a high degree of know-how, hard work and the motivation to endure.”
#6 - Vertical Dance (UK) - The mission of Hertfordshire-based Vertical Dance is to achieve “recognition for pole dancing as a fitness form and to remove the stigma attached to its origins.” In 2006 the center brought together schools from around the world, setting the first pole-dance related Guinness World Record and raising £50,000 for charity. Definitely a cause we can get behind – or spin around on! Winning design by Steel Strugglin; you can check out Vertical Dance’s flyer design contest here.
#7 - Begin Fitness (Australia) - This Melbourne, Australia training program transforms fitness fanatics into personal trainers in 10 to 12 weeks.
#8 - Carolina Fitness Network (United States) - Eddie Price, personal trainer and owner of Carolina Fitness Network, will do anything to help you achieve your fitness goals. Make sure to stop by the next time you’re in North Carolina. (And if you’re not up for an actual workout, kick back at the juice bar – gotta start somewhere!)
#9 - Push Hard Multisport (United States) - Push Hard Multisport owner-coach Josh Gold helps New York triathletes as well as single-sport competitors – and those hoping to get there – reach their goals on foot, on two wheels and in the water.
#10 - The Urban Fitness Club (Australia) - Blackburn’s newest multi-purpose gym turned to 99designs for a bevy of fitness-class-themed icons to use in its jam-packed schedule.
Bonus: Get (cross) fit!
We couldn’t help but notice the recent surge in design contests for CrossFit, Inc.-affiliated gyms, or “boxes” as they’re known by insiders. According to CrossFit, its conditioning program is “constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement” that incorporates a multitude of athletic moves into a different workout every day. According to the CrossFit aficionados at 99designs, it’s an intense, addictive sweat-session with the power to transform the body and mind. We were so impressed by the variety of CrossFit designs our customers have sourced we thought we’d showcase one for every day of the week. (You’ll note there are five…everyone needs the occasional weekend off!)
#1 – Level 4 CrossFit Seattle (United States) - It seems that good things start in Seattle, because this was the first CrossFit Affiliate on the planet. With the individualized attention of a certified trainer, you might walk out with a certificate bearing this Level 4 gold seal!
#3 – CrossFit MouseTrap (United States) - CrossFit Mousetrap is located right near Disney World, but this mouse seems to have lifted a few more kettlebells (or cheese sticks) than Mickey! Check out their website for an inspirational video.
#3 – CrossFit Port Saint Lucie, LLC (United States) - This original CrossFit Affiliate on Florida’s Treasure Coast combines “knowledge, intensity, decades of experience and a little bit of tough love to get you to your special goal.” Keep your eyes out for their 5 for 5 Promo (pay 5 weeks and get 5 weeks for free); it’s valid until the end of April 2013!
#4 – CrossFit San Jose (United States) - CrossFit San Jose, the oldest CrossFit Affiliate San Francisco’s South Bay, aims to “train and support you through a regiment that will boost your motivation and your results.”
#5 – CrossFit Fast Factory (United States) - CrossFit Fast Factory in St. Cloud, Minnesota, is proof that even in places where winter lasts six months, staying in shape is indeed possible! Members can now show off their toned bodies in this newly designed Factory Built tank top!
So what do you say? Ready to put down the remote and step into action? Are there other types of design roundups you’d like to see in the Customer Blog? Share your thoughts!
