- Brief Overview
- Our world and economies are unsustainable. There's over 1 billion people today that don't have sufficient access to clean drinking water. The healthcare system is broken, there's a growing need for sustainable architecture, and many other areas such as transportation, banking, and education that need to be reworked. These are only a few examples. A "Clean Economy" goes beyond just CO2 reduction. Clean Economies are smarter ecosystems of technologies, education models, business models, ways of living, and models to decrease gaps between socioeconomic classes. We are entrepreneurs with diverse interests ranging from crowdsourcing, open source software, sustainable architecture, and clean energy. We think the key element to catalyzing change is a place where people can interact, build on each other's ideas, and educate the public on these needs. clean economies will be an interactive blog and monthly micro conference (presentations, pitches, panel discussion, networking) that promotes the confluence of ideas, people and technologies. Our mission is to create the best possible platform for meaningful conversation. This means designing a forum that fosters open conversation and collaboration between people whose interests, when cross pollinated, produce the fittest ideas.

"Clean Economies"
- Target Audience
- Clean Economies is a blog, forum, and micro-conference that attracts hundreds of people for each event. There are three main audiences. Entrepreneurs, professionals and venture capitalists interested in capitalist ventures that create positive change. Since we are based in Boston, the first event will consist mostly of individuals in the greater Boston region. These individuals all share a belief in technology and entrepreneurship as a solution to many of the world's problems. ::: Design needs to be in layered PSD ****NOTE: We love crowdsourcing and giving back to designer community. We will prominently link to the winning designers homepage or portfolio and will be writing several articles on how we designed the site.****
- Requirements
- The site should have a professional, clean feel modeled after the logo we just designed: http://tinyurl.com/kjkkf5. Some examples of websites we really like include: - www.moma.org - http://www.ibm.com/ibm/ideasfromibm/us/smartplanet/index.shtml?re=sph - www.zenhabits.net - www.99designs.com - http://venturebeat.com/ Pages: 1. Blog (main page) The content in the blog will discuss companies, groups and individuals that have discovered creative, new business models. The posts are not limited to this - we will also be discussing new ideas and trends in entrepreneurship with the purpose of sparking conversation. Important Aspects of Blog: - Since we are trying to foster a community, it is important that commenting on posts and responding to comments is easy for readers to do. Perhaps comment fields can be unconventional in their design and/or location. - We are also looking for it be easy for readers to share our content through social media. - The most important aspects are SIMPLICITY & FUNCTIONALITY 2. Events This page will be used to keep people posted on our upcoming events. 3. About This page is just a brief description of clean economies and bios of its founders. 4. Forum We are thinking about using open source "Vanilla" software for the forum. 5. Archives Styled similarly to: http://zenhabits.net/archive/ **We are also looking for a favicon design.
