Report design as...
CloseDesign brief
You know how when you go to a conference and on the first day of the keynote the announcer says "Hey, everybody, use #ft09 as the hashtag to twitter about this...," and then you promptly forget it, and then maybe you tweet later to ask "What was that tag we were supposed to use?" and no one knows? Well, this site is designed to fix that problem.
We're a startup (well, OK, a guy with a vision for a great tool building this on a shoestring!) building a cross-platform tool (both browser and desktop) for managing social media campaigns. The basic idea of the site is that it gives marketing managers, promoters, or event managers a central point to create, manage, track, and (most importantly) distribute the various tags (hash tags, @ tags, stuff on flick, wordpress, etc) they want to use in for a promotional event.
TagCaster
The initial audience are people who need to manage social media campaigns, such as:
* Marketing managers
* Event promoters
* Event managers
* PR people
* Ad agencies
Basically, a lot of these people's jobs are moving managing a pretty clear cut project with defined goals and responsibilities into a sort of "shepherd in chief" for a host of third parties (bloggers, potential event attendees, prominent community members). Their goal is to get these people to talk up the event, but they don't really have many tools at their disposal. So, they're a bit frustrated.
These people are generally clued into marketing, but don't have a technical background. They have a sense of aesthetics, as well, so they need a design that doesn'y look like something tossed together by a bunch of hackers. (That's where you come in).
I've created a set of wireframes that I've posted here:
http://tagcaster.webfactional.com/s…ames_2.pdf
They detail the main sections of the site -- a home page, an FAQ, a "plans and pricing", and a "Sign In". You will not need to do anything in the dashed lines of the content box.
* The main content box (the one with the dashes) must have height = 800px, width = 700px
* The design must convey a professional, credible image, but not be too corporate.
* No stock photos.
I'd like the colors and your flair for design to speak for itself.
* The design must be clear, crisp, and inviting
* Have a distinctive color palette -- something classic. (No neon limes or anything. Personally, I like tones, but you decide).
* It's trite, but the design should have a "Web 2.0" feel
* I need the following button images that should fit the theme of the site:
-- "Feedback"
-- "Sign Up"
-- "Explore Plans and Pricing"
* I don't have plans for an elaborate logo (on the to do list) but I'd love to see some creative suggestions for the "Logo goes here" box.
* Must include space for secondary nav (see the wireframes)
