    Is there an online version of this page?
    There will be no menu, just image, header title and a tagline for the header,
    product info with 2 columns in the middle and a purchase button at bottom with some copyright notes?

    Actually realised that I hadn't put examples in the brief ... been hunting around and it's been difficult finding what I like ... I do like the style of what firefox is doing here:

    Like the idea of mapped out areas, but prefer background to either fade from top to white like firefox home page (http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/), or be white.

    Colours though need to be 'healthy & bright' --- greens, yellows, with touches of blue ... or surprise me.

    I want something modern (web 2), up to date, clean, strong, focused ... that stands out from the current wishy washy special offer pages.

    Is coding required? If not, you also say you need pieces of this to be "stretched," does that mean you won't accept a psd as a final product?

    Hi KimKiyaa,

    No, coding is not required. PSD will be accepted.

    What I mean to say is that the design must lend itself to being 'stretched' in the centre section.

    I can alter size of photo to fit ... but as a guide 120px wide by 26opx high ... But as I say, I can alter.

    Hi, VSC is any problems if in the layout I'm making in the header is an "special offers" logo and in the content the product, details, etc.?

    Hi thehqdesign,

    Special Offers logo --- that's fine.

    The point of this design is for me to be able to slot in products I need to clear out fast, or introduce fast so I can get feedback to use on other sites ... so being a Special Offer fits in fine.

    Hi everyone,

    Many thanks for everything to date up to design 6.
    I've gone through and left everyone feedback.

    General comments I am making (and what I'm discovering) is that designs need to be strong, bright, louder - without being 'corny' or tabloid.

    I also like overlapping shapes, and would be nice to see some curves!

    I'm looking at extending this contest by 3 days as it took time for the first entries to come trhough and I want to give all the designers time to 'get it right' --- for both of us!

    Okay ... I know this one is a bit of a challenge! Even I can't find something existing online that exactly meets what I want to see ... so, I've spent about 4 hours (no kidding!), trawling the net to find some examples of the elements I do like ...

    I like the curve edge to the bottom of the header on this ...

    Hi everyone,

    I've made personal comments to all the latest additions - where I've asked you to refer to the post on the contest page - it's the one above this one ... and please make note of this one.

    Okay ... I appreciate all the work you lot are putting in - I'm asking for something a bit 'out of the box' (literally) and I want to help guide you as much as I can.

    Of the designs so far up to 19 ...

    19 --- Love the yellow & green ... but also like colours of 12/13 and 4.

    Like the sense of space in 1, 10 and 15.

    Like the concave box in the header of 10 (especially it coming out of the rectangular box it sits on).

    Like the gradients and shadowed backgrounds in 10 and 12.

    Want more curve shapes ...

    It's about the balance between light and dark / strong shapes and white space ... creating a dynamic header, and leading down to the buy now area ...

    Please feel welcome to quizz me for more info!

    Keep them coming - we're getting there!

    Okay ... have just gone through with more updates - thanks everyone!

    Generally - more gradients.
    Keep colour palette small.
    Use textures in solid colour blocks as well as gradients if You want to to.

    Unleash those creative juices guys & gals!

    All of you ... think back to the last time you went to a great gig, contest, fun fair, event, party ... whatever! Get that feeling back - Then sit down and update these designs.

    Okay ... some furious work going on now - well done all!
    Lucky I work similar crazy hours you lot do ...

    The way it's going, and with the quality of the work that is coming through here, I can definitely say that there will be 2nd, 3rd and possibly 4th place awards.

    You'll appreciate that I can't pay everyone the $400, so I'm looking at 1st $400; 2nd $200; 3rd $100; 4th $50 ... Plus I'll add a link to your portfolio sites when I use the designs.

    Hi Trigz ... and everyone,

    Well with so many entries, and with so many of those very good - it's only fair! (Though don't expect me to always do this).

    While I'm here, can I say thanks to all of you designers! I know it's a challenge getting in to the 'head' of a client - especially when you only have text to lead you. At least when you meet a client face to face you can get more direct feedback ... so well done!

    Just to help me out ... would appreciate knowing what I did well and what I did bad to guide/advise you. It's in my best interests to help you 'get' my vision, so you don't waste time and get frustrated, and I get what I want (and don't get frustrated!). You can either PM me or post here.

    I have to say that there is awesomely terrific talent in this contest! Great job to everyone that's participated!

    Vic.. I have to comment on your "what I did good/bad to advise us".
    You're right, it's very difficult to come up with exactly as the contest holder wants, but it's CH's like you that keep us motivated and encourged to just keep going and not want to give up! When a CH leaves us great feedback as you have with everyone that I've seen.. that's what gives the designers the inspiration to not give up and the hunger to get it perfect, just for YOU!
    You did everything right and absolutely nothing wrong.. couldn't ask for any better! I'm gonna be quiet now and go to bed! LOL

    Hi Dee,

    Thank you for your kind feedback - much appreciated. My wife says I', 'trying', but not always sure in the best sense ;-)

    If only for effort, everyone here is a winner. Not everyone can win. For some designers, what I am asking for simply isn't their 'style' - and that's fine and dandy.

    For others, they've stretched themselves perhaps in a different direction, or been allowed to show their natural style, and I hope enjoyed the process.

    I'm no designer, and no art critic. I like to believe that I have a good sense of colour, style etc (Hey ... I spend 4 years getting an Honours Art Degree!) but can only go on what I think will work for me, the products I am promoting, and the prospective buyers of those products - so there will be non-winners.

    Will be another contest next week (as soon as I've paid off the winners today) for some website banners ... and yes, will want something a bit different!

    And then perhaps a 'pet' project of mine which will reaaaallllllly stretch you! Hehehe ...

    Okay everyone!

    There are a lot of great designs here ... and I really do not want to rush a decision.
    The winners will reflect quality of design as well as following brief and ease of communication.

    I actually have to leave my 'office' now for a few hours (see client, pick up kids from school!)

    Okay then. Before I announce the winners ... some of you may feel disappointed, AND SHOULDN'T!

    The 'Four' won for various reasons, and I know you ALL worked really hard and invested time and effort in creating these great designs.

    So ...

    I'm upgrading these four designs to 5 stars.
