for the contest New Web-site Design for Software Company
Submitted design #2
Not completely finished yet, but i would like to here if this is something you may want.
As told before, I am able to code that for you.
Hi ElViZ
Thank you for sharing your design with us.
We think this is a cool design. Very corporate but yet hip and cool at the same time. We liked the blue and grey color scheme which works well (reminds me of banks, IBM, AMEX) in representing the feeling of trustworthiness and being solid. We love the guy graphic on the left hand side balanced by the red blog tag on the right that just pops off the page. Can you change the blurb above the guy to say “I feel safe with Stonewall behind me”
We liked the scroll bar in the center although right now we don’t have a group of products. Can we see what this would look like for two different options:
1) Say something like “How do we compare?” and the list competitor names that can be scrolled through and clicked on for more information on how we compare - AVG, Symantec, McAfee, Avast, Microtrend, Kaspersky …
or
2) Move the “Keep in Touch” enter your email here to the middle grey bar and remove the scrolling part for now
For the mockup can you make the 3 areas on the bottom
- blog
- product
- news
We would be interested to see your proposal for the blog subpage along this theme.
Ok, thanks for the feedback - I will upload a second version in a few hours.

I designed some subpages and apply the changes you mentioned.
Feedback would be nice again.

Congratulations Elvis on winning the contest. I know we have been communicating via private message, but wanted to share the general feedback here also in case anyone wants to read it.
we liked that this design was unique but also a bit on the conservative side. We liked that it wasn't too long in pagesize or too busy and we felt it was near ready to go. It was important to us since we are on a very short timeline that we had enough content to fill the spaces but also that the site could evolve over time to fit more information.
- turn the center scrollbar into the subscribe to newsletter bar (since we are in early stages we dont have enough content to fill this area and scroll but we like that we can use it later)
- elminate the skyline - we like it but it isnt related to our business
- changes to graphic selection
- move the graphic into the blue box so its more blended with the design
- eliminate all the little icons - whitepaper, rss etc. we'll have rss on blog page
Thank you.
ElViZ I'm going to mark you as the winner with this design but wanted to mention that there will be some changes between the posted design and the final design that due to the short timeline of the contest we are working on the changes offline.
Looking forward to working with you.
