I like #33, but the recent work on the right needs to go - this is a static site that will not change often and does not need this. Also, please add the Home tab to the left of the other nav. Otherwise, very nice and clean and will get 3 stars and be in contention with the changes. Thanks!
Also, please underline 'attention to detail' and drop the part that was in (), while you are making the other changes.
#34 was elimnated only because the white header demands the logo change and it canot change.

removed right content and added 'home' menu item...
some things I should mention about the layout:
- the main content can have a fixed width - 960px or whatever you wish, and centered
- the graphic in the footer can extend to the browser window size (to achieve this, a part of the background image is repeated)

Cool on 42 - thanks for the changes. The only thing I am unsure of is the repeating buildings at the bottom - it might even look best with just the night scky, the moon, and a few fireworks going up, and NOT the skyline.

I'm insisting on white because theres too much contrast if you go with a full black background and it hurts the eyes

Insisting on white?? Interesting, but the client may not agree. It's actually pretty good - both 43 and 44 - they will make the short list.
Contest is open on Monday - probably will be revising final short list by then.
