Brief Summary

University related startup its looking for a fresh image, but serious, communicating profesionalism. Will open also another contest to get a great slogan. Will post a link later to allow you join both contests if you like.

After finish these 2 contests will open another one to get a brochure and posters. Almost total of $1000 in prizes for these 3 contests.

VERY IMPORTANT: Work must be all 100% original and winner will give us full rights over brand and all related materials. Winner can't include this brand in their portfolio. We reserves the right to hand over these rights to customer or any other third party. If you are not agree, please don't join this contest.

  4. Do copyright laws prohibit the designer to use their own work in their portfolios? This seems wrong to me...

    I'm not concerned about agreeing or not, simply the legality of the whole thing.

  5. MJBattle its legal, do you accept agreement under those condictions? you don't? don't join the contest. We ran other contests in the same way and I know some designers could not join the contest, but are the conditions we work.

    Discussion board is the place to clarify project details, if you are not agree with conditions don't join this contest.

  9. Just to let everyone know. When you sign over rights to any CH, you should also get it in writing that you want to use the logo in your portfolio. If you sign over all rights, that includes the right to use it in your portfolio so be careful. If they tell you in advance, as is the case here, you know what you're getting into. But if you're worried about it in a contest where they don't, it may be best to ask ahead of time if that is one of your concerns. It is your work until you sign it over. Then it belongs to them.

  10. I have come to agreement with some contest holders from past contests that I have won and had to sign the rights over to them, that I could use the logo in my printed portfolio like for a job interview, but I couldn't use the logo in an online portfolio. Even in my printed portfolio, I have a star on the page that says that the work is the owner of the business, but I sold it to them to tell the interviewer that it was at one point my work...

    I don't know if this contest holder would allow that or not, but I'm in for whatever rules they ask for...consider it a blessing if they even want to buy the work from you, as a designer, right?

  11. All true. You are correct in the basic form of buyer/seller. Too bad OPEC and the big oil companies in America don't consider it a blessing that all us average fuel buying citizens are buying their products. They have us over a barrel! No pun intended. :)

  14. hello graysource, no sorry. But our accounting people don't like methods don't allow make payment online. If you have some account with other people like Paypal or Xoom could consider it.
