for the contest DVD cover: The most beautiful objects in the Universe
Submitted design #51
nice clean dvd jacket design. Includes front and back of cover. This is the low res version. The full res version avalible if chosen.
Thanks for your design. This looks too blue - even the author's picture has a bluish cast to it.
Also, we'd prefer using actual photos of the planets if possible.
Having a background of stars might work if done correctly. The blue dots don't really convey a "star field" look though.
Thanks again for your work!
the blue dots are stars, taken from nasa website. It's funny how fake stars look more real then real stars. I'll resubmit with the color adjustments removed. Thanks for the fast feedback.

Took off color effects. Replaced the Nasa star field with a starfield from my stock photo library. Changed the color scheme to fit the new image.Changed the aura around the planet. I took the color effect off the authors picture but I believe a black and white photo is better because there are some weird color artifacting going on in the original author's photos. That and the colors in the photo clash with the color scheme. Thanks in advance on feedback.
This is a nice-looking design. I like the vivid effect it has on the viewer.
This would be great for a science fiction video -- to me, it does a great job of conveying mystery in a space-oriented them.
We were looking for something more realistic though -- something to communicate the grandeur of the Solar System.
Thanks again for your work.

Here's my last stab at it. Tryed to make it look less sci-fi like and more like Discovery's Planet Earth like.
The galaxy image in the middle looks nice, but again, we were looking for photographs rather than artwork.
I don't care for the planet arrangement on the right. They make the design look unbalanced somehow?
