The "Z" is the negative space which provides an interesting play between the background and foreground. I am going to work on adding a green gem but I figured I'd submit this as is since you mentioned you wanted it clean and simple and the gem didn't appear to be a requirement. Please let me know if you'd like any revisions.

I love the idea of the Z, but I need more blacka dn possably the Z a bit bigger, brown is not neede either
