for the contest Lowlo needs makeover...
Submitted design #14
Here is my logo. Keep with the original owl, just remade to give it more gloss.
Hope you like it, let me know if you want something different.
Thanks Andy
Hi Andy. Love the owl! It's adorable. Designs 17, 18, and 19 are a little busy. This will be going into the masthead of our new site, so I like keeping the text of the logo simpler (minus the flash & ground).
The owl is a bit busy too. I liked him better without the fur effects. Also, one prop is enough :-) I think 14 is strongest at this point, it's bold and relatively simple. I'd like to see the shield developed a bit more. The magnifying glass might be good too if you're feeling creative, but it obstructs the owl too much in the later designs.
Submitted design #21
Improved shield a little. I could change the symbol for a down arrow if you think it would be better. Incorporated the magnifying glass but remove if its too much. Hope you like the new changes.
Thanks Andy
Love it! Let's make the owl as tall as the tag, and get rid of the magnifying glass... it's a little too busy. And let's make the beak smaller and lose the tuft of hair (more like the old owl).
This is going to be a great logo. Some minor tweaks:
Something about the owl still looks a bit off. #14 was by far the cutest.
1) The current iteration still has more ovular eyes and a bigger beak.
2) Think the whole owl might stretched vertically compared to 14.
3) Looks like 14 might have been a bit darker shade of brown
Also, the owl looks a bit off center vertically from the tag. He could probably be a teeny bit taller and better centered.
One more comment, right now the tag looks a little metallic. Is it possible to give it a more papery texture?
Hey Andy, almost there with the owl :-p I'm still comparing to #14. The eyes can be a tiny bit taller, and the beak moved down a little bit. Also the pupils looks blocky in this version. Let's go back to the dollar sign on the shield. The paper is a little to dark (although I like the brown "shopping companion". Either the paper effect should be really subtle or we should just go back to the old label.
Put another way, if you still have the owl from #14, use that owl, change the belly from yellow to the brown you're using in later designs, add the shield with the dollar sign and revised paper tag, and we're there.
Submitted design #27
Here are the changes. Keep the owl the same height as it didn't match being smaller than the tag. Hope you like it.
Thanks,
Andy
1) Owl's almost perfect! I think we can get rid of the lighting effect in the iris and just make them solid black.
2) Tag: I think the paper-effect distracts from the rest of the logo. Let's just revert the texture back to the #22 version minus the shade in the bottom right (more like #21), and keep the brown shopping companion.
Rock on dude.
