Brief Summary

Big Ten Metals wants a simple, yet head turning logo that won't be easily forgotten. Striving to be a leader in the metal distribution industry.

This logo will be used on business cards, letterhead, envelopes and a website.

As for colors, maybe blue and silver or blue and orange (University of Illinois) or green and yellow (Green Bay Packers).

    Thanks for the early submissions. I don't mind the silver/metal looking font styles, but if you do that, please put it on a blue background so it stands out.

    I would like the logo to be more sreamlined and professional looking. We don't want hammers or other equipment pieces in our logo as we mostly distribute metal alloys to companies.

    An icon of some sort would be nice to see as it would identify our company and make us unique.

    I'll give some individual feedback now, but just wanted to make this public for any future designers.

    We would really like to see an icon or symbol in our logo that might not necessarily have anything to do with metal distribution but looks really cool and helps us stand out from the others.

    We want a corporate look because we will be dealing with Aerospace and Defense contracts as well as other large agencies and this logo will be branded on our marketing materials as well as our upcoming website.

    After seeing quite a few of the later entries, it appears that people are emphazing more on an icon or symbol and not Big Ten Metals. Having an icon or symbol isn't a must, if you can make the text a logo in itself with a nice layout, font and maybe a play on the letters. The 10 could also be worked in there.

    Just a suggestion because some of the icons or symbols are starting to look to artsy.

    Remember, we need a very corporate look.

    Big Ten Metals is a premier metals distributor, providing many grades of material from Aluminum, Stainless & Alloy to Titanium bars and plates.

    Maybe this will help in your thought process when designing our logo?

    I've just been informed that green and yellow or gold (Green Bay Packers) colors can be used in addition to Blue, Silver, White and the blue and orange colors the University of Illinois uses.

    Going to be presenting all the 4 star designs and some of the 3 star designs to the owner tomorrow (Friday) so there's still time to submit a winning design.

    Btw, the meeting won't necessarily guarantee a winner, but will offer some much needed feedback that I'm waiting on. It might be Monday before a winner is selected so keep em' coming! :)

    Some of the designs now have 5 stars, even some that originally had 3. The owner liked several of your designs but finally narrowed it down to a few, giving you 5 stars. I should be able to award a winner Monday once he ponders the situation.
