Brief Summary

At the moment I am consolidating the following websites into one centralized hub---the new homebase URL wiIl be called www.loonybus.com---a virtual tour site for high schools and colleges to book me as a mental wellness speaker and to showcase my author clips, etc.

Current site being revamped: www.lipstickandthongbook.com

Tandem sites: www.scribechickie.blogspot.com
www.youtube.com/courtneyawalsh
www.courtneyawalsh.com

I need a look and feel that is fun, funky, empowering, but also something appealing to high schools and colleges as well as treatment centers yet NOT BORING.

NOTE: please work primarily with color scheme of book's cover NOT necessarily rainbow font theme of current website--thanks! www.lulu.com/content/1076267

Description
Let's face it...I want to help people...but I also want to sell books. :) I don't think the two goals are mutually exclusive. What would be ideal would be a logo that can be parlayed into a web page template for a central page that is being created by a programmer pal right now. He can incorporate your amazing design, which will be more creative than corporate, into his navigation design for the overall structure of the web page.
Wants
Loonybus is a concept...it's about mental wellness with a humorous twist. I am personally trying to destigmatize the taboos around suicide. Irony and satire welcome. I do however also need to be taken seriously by high schools and colleges so nothing so over the top that a high school principal will have a heart attack. Here's a weird thought for inspiration: Think MTV meets Schoolhouse Rock with a little bit of I Love Lucy fun retro with a Sex in the City modern twist and even some polka dots, zebra stripes....mix it up! Yep it's a challenge...but one that could potentially save lives and be seen by millions. But ya know...no pressure. ;) Have fun! Hehe...how's THAT for Loony? I'd like to harmonize with the color scheme of my book's cover but I am open to tweaks and suggestions on streamlining to appeal to a wider demographic.
Don't Wants
No yellow...I don't want anything corporate or stiff, nothing grateful-deadish or hippielike, nothing too New Agey...while I enjoy those things they are not right for this particular project. I also don't want to set up a negative, in your face vibe...I am going for approachable and funny not obnoxious or smug. Also..while it's fun to play with a schoolbus theme...not a big fan of yellow. ;)
