  2. I decided that I would use a circle to confuse the viewer and then separate it into three, as to symbolize three bent glowsticks, but I decided it then looked better without the ends for detail.

  8. Web 2.0 is in fact just a buzz word.
    The main theme around it is pretty much based around gradients.
    This kind of movement has been almost solely created by apple.
    As I have been commented, no gradients..

  15. Just to let everyone know, my favourites at this stage are the ones where the designers have thought a little about what they've done, rather than just draw a square. In particular QD_X's designs (#57 in particular), and #48 by gimik though he is in serious danger of being discounted as he hasn't responded to any feedback left.

    Others that are quite good and would be even better with some tweaking include #41, #54 and #61 (the upper of the 2).

  16. web 2.0 is actually just a word that has catched on, web 2.0 is the generation of websites with live rss feeds and so on. There is actually no definition for a web 2.0 style.

  18. @QD_X - can you please humour me by trying to make the glowsticks in your design look brighter (orange/brighter blue/lime green or similar) as at the moment the words look really good, but the graphic looks out of place slightly (it's a good graphic though!!).

    @everyone - i don't want this to be a debate about web 2.0, I have tried to define what I mean by web 2.0 style, and i'm sure many of you are familiar with the stylistic concepts that many call "web 2.0" even if you disagree that they are in fact that. Let's not get bogged down in semantics!

I do apologise, I know you guys all put in a lot of effort, but in the end it was the way Gimik did the box and the way his design was simple enough to go in 1 color whilst still staying striking. But you're right, he didn't reply to any feedback so i'm pretty pissed at that, luckily for him his first design was eye catching enough.

    @QDesigns - I know you "spent some valuable time", but it wouldn't be a competition if I just awarded the prize to the person who submitted the most designs. If you must know it was SOOOO close between your designs, Gimik's and Inpoar's - I even began to fall in love with some of Xstyr and oz's newer designs.

    It was a really tough decision guys (i'm sure it always is!) but thank you all for participating.
