Brief Summary

This is our second contest trying to get a logo for our music school. The first time through 99 designs we thought we knew what we wanted and lead great designers astray. The logo is for Bay Area music school (http://bradleyschoolofmusic.com/) Bradley Music Studios is a place where people come for an academic music program taught by professional musicians who have serious street credibility and are cool and hip. The logo will express: 1. Classy and sophisticated 2. academic and learning 3. very hip and cool. 4. clean and simple. We offer the best education with the most popular teachers and cutting edge ideas. Instructors at BSM are professional musicians with their own careers.

    Hi all. I'm looking for something classy and sophisticated but cool and hip all at once. I like the colors black and green but I am open to different ideas. The logo that I choose has to look good on company vehicles and not be too busy. I want something direct so that when you look at it you understand the image of the school: First class with an edge. All styles of music. All ages. Most types of instruments (guitar and bass being the main ones but also voice and percussion). Also, Bradley School of Music is a community of people who love music. If you guys can get all of that into a simple logo then we got a winner.

    hey but isn't #79 what he was trying to get away from? I thought I remember something about expanding the logo to all groups, including vocalists?Some feedback would be nice to let us know.I hope not to see another abandoned contest...

    @Computerlove Well there are certain CH's who decide they don't like any of the designs and either just run away or tell everyone they are not satisfied. So basically they use their prize offer as a trick to find out what they even want as some CH's don't know what they want.99 Designs promotes the CH's to reward a prize anyways for the efforts involved but this is only a recommendation.I personally have received a 4 star rating before and was offered no prize because the CH was not "satisfied" with any of the designs. Alot of these contests turn into contests to closely mimic the design in which the CH rates the highest without "stealing" another persons Idea.Alot of your designs will get copied rather that respected.Alot like fighting for scraps at the dinner table.Yet it seems this is what it has come to in order to make some extra cash.

    I agree! It should be THE RULE!
    And another thing (when this subject came out) : The CH was leading designers in "desired" direction and at the end changed his mind and decided that it wasn't what he was after for?!!!

    Yes, after the 'ticketsolve' contest, I almost changed my username to 'designslave' - ugh! We are talented artists and people with PS, IL and more skillz, but we're sought after for 40 bucks! - desperate for gas money...

    As for being nonspecific to an instrument or area of music... I like #150 #131 #49 and #13 but it might be for more younger audience or to sound people.

    falconrebel - great work #35 it just looks like a school of string instuments...

    @Pulcritude: thanks for the answer. I've only been for about a week but now I get what you meant. And it's a shame, and I agree on making the contests pre-paid.

    Also, there should be a filter to get in, because I see designs like #158 get two stars and mine get zero stars (#49, #50, #51), And I don't even know if the CH even looked at mine.

    Also, I don't even know what the #158 logo means, a fireplace? A match and some gas? And the typeface, OMG...

    But when I see that the brief says "don't use a guitar", and the winner logo IS a guitar, I don't know what to think. And the logo will be a pain to use, very small pieces, very angular, rough, unfinished.
