for the contest Web Site Design for Grocery Trade Association
Submitted design #27
Hi here's my entry. Thanks
Hi Jepoypalaboy,
We will be responding to you shortly with some additional direction for your design.
Thank you very much for your entry.
Hi Jepoypalaboy,
Based upon all of the designs submitted, our client has established a very clear idea of what they want to see in their final result. From the three remaining designs, there are elements in each that we would like to see in the final design. We would like to see who can best implement the overall design.
We have uploaded a graphic indicating the desired final layout of content items. It can be found here: http://www.fireup.net/client-files/ciga/final-layout.png. As the target resolution for CIGA’s user base is 1024x768, we would like to target the web site to approximately 960 pixels wide. The sizes of the content items are in no way the exact dimensions, but are relative and should be used merely as a guideline in your design. The main body background could either be a gradient or other pattern of some sort.
The client has indicated that they would like to have a blue-colored background instead of white. This stood out from Finsta Designz’s entry. We hope to see a few different variations of the implementation, as readability is a concern. The “openness” of the content was well received from both Finsta Designz’s and Kontemporary’s entries.
One key item that the client decided that they absolutely do not want to see is photos of fruits, vegetables, or supermarkets. Although they represent a fair amount of traditional grocers, one of their largest and growing member bases is with small markets - typically ethnic markets (Mexican markets, European markets, etc). After seeing designs with these types of photos, the client felt that prospective members may be alienated by pictures of large markets or produce, which they typically do not carry. Likewise, full pictures of people should be avoided.
From your design, Jepoypalaboy, we would like to see the implementation of the four links (CIGA Member Resources, Government Relations, Grocers Insurance Fund, and Coupon Redemption) as well as your implementation of the navigation. Both of these stood out amongst the competition.
The photo that you chose for the state capitol is perfect and we would like to see that in the final design. For the photos in the links, we would like to see a different photo of the state capitol instead of the photo with the hand over a bible. We’re open to variations on the other ones, but the current ones are sufficient.
For sake of consistency in the designs, please use the content items listed here: http://www.fireup.net/client-files/ciga/text-content.txt.
If you need any clarification needed, please let us know!

Here's the revised design. Thanks
Submitted design #40
Option with different state capitol image on top. Thanks
27 is eliminated - newer design replaces it.
Hi Jepoypalaboy,
We like the photo in #40, but the client indicated they preferred a "straight-on" photo. We'll show them both to the client to see how she reacts.
Congratulations, jepoypalaboy, our client has chosen your design.
There are a few minor changes that need to be made, and we will communicate those changes to you shortly.
Let us know if you have any questions in the meantime.
