Dear CH, while I understand your standpoint on the issue I'd have to disagree. The quality of work on 99designs is quite impressive and I can name 2 dozen designers that have an amazing portfolio to their name. While the prize money was decent I think that more involvement on your part in the form of feedback and star rating would have helped weed out the poor efforts and would have brought on those great designers to produce a great logo for you. This is a two way street here.

@dameer - if you actually took a moment to view my profile, you would see that I've run many successful contests here previously and have never withdrawn a contest before. Furthermore, as I'm sure all previous winners will attest, I have always paid immediately and in some cases continue to work with the contest winner on other projects. In short, I consider myself a 'good' contest holder.
That said, sadly the quality of work at 99designs, and previously Sitepoint has dropped dramatically since I started holding contests. Now I'm not saying all the designers here don't have skill (they do) but I find that I'm far more likely to get good work by going directly to the designer with an impressive portfolio (and, for the most part they have all stopped participating in contests).

The logo will actually be used in white-on-black, so I've effectively been looking at these in that respect and ignoring the actual color used.
