Our client is an international risk management consulting and training firm. We need a new header using our client's existing logo and color scheme.

This is not our first contest. We understand how valuable communications is with these contests and will be prompt with feedback and replies to questions.

    I want to enter, but I'm a bit confused.
    Where do you want the actual logo? Part of the banner, or off to the side in the sidebar? This will really help:) Thanks:)

    good question. I've clarified this in the contest brief by saying this:

    "Most likely this should be placed on the left sidebar but I'd be open to ideas incorporating it in the main header on the right."

    Do you have the original psd file? may make it much easier to rework from the original instead of taking a screenshot.....

    Yes I have it. I wanted to provide it but I was a little worried about the legality/licencing of this. I guess mainly I didn't want to make it publicly available. How about if people pm me their email addresses and I will email it to you. (But please agree to only use it for this contest)

    Well I'm not sure. I wasn't suggesting you post it publicly, just a private message to me. 99designs provide the pm facility, it seems reasonable to me to use it this way for this situation.

    Just a note to everyone about our plans for the side bar. We plan to use it some simple text like the latest two blog entries or as Mutter suggested earlier we might leave it off altogether.

    That's not to say anyone needs to resubmit I just don't want people putting too much effort into the look of the "poll".

    Redsky - as for the left sidebar, that's a solid color defined in the CSS of your drupal template, correct? If so - it's probably prudent to remind people that any graphics or images would have to replace out the sidebar, and add to the overall http requests of the site (not optimized).

    Just food for thought for some of the designers who have gradients and images on the left side. :)

    Good points Muttur, the funny thing is it's exactly what I like about yours :) You introduced a gradient in the main content area from black to purple. I'm not sure I have a problem with it.

    Well, I'd like to say keep it simple, it'll make my job easier to implement but... for example, I like the bar below the header in #23 and it's been stylized. And your #11 looks great with the gradient in the content section, I'm not sure it would look so elegant if the color was solid. However, I'd have to implement it as a giant background image. What are your thoughts? Think that'd be a optimization problem?

    One more general comment, I think I would like the entire left sidebar to stay light, contrasting the rest of the page. It's what we like about the original template.

    Redsky - giant background images are not best practices in general. It drastically decreases load time, hence why our original designs were just for the header instead of stylizing the whole page.

    Also - as the original contest was just for the top header, would you mind editing the description of the contest if you decide we should also style the main bg and and menu bar? We all just want to clarify what exactly you'd like to have so we can give you the best product possible! :)

    OK, I don't want to confuse tings, let's keep it to creating a header and choosing colors for the remainder. The header can include the top portion of the left sidebar where the logo goes.
