Hi Bob,
I did use a logo similar to this in other contests, but have not sold the rights, so it's open.
Thanks,
Rick
You know, I like this one much better than the last one. I like your font choice and the inclusion of the web site under the name, and especially that you've included a grey scale and b/w version for us to use. You can even read the blue as the pool! Nice job. I should be able to show these to my partner tonight and get better feedback. I like the logo design, it doesn't say much about rocks, garden or desert, but it does really bring the 'homey' aspect out. Nice job Rick!

I think you did a very good job explaining what you're looking for in the detail and that is helping a lot. There are so many good ideas floating around between boulders, mountain, cacti, pools, etc that it's hard to pin them all down in one design. So I've been just taking a few idea combos and seeing what happens.
Thanks Bob!

I updated this logo by trying to include the garden idea and adding more depth with the colors.

Hey Rick, I really like the new logo treatment you did, and the new horizontal version as well. Very nice. I'm sort of leaning towards the other font, but let me discuss this design w/my partner tonight, before I have you do any more work. I think this new version is one of the best so far. Very nice job.
Hey Rick, we've talked about your designs. My partner didn't like the house or the blue oval, but liked the mountains you did. If you'd be interested in doing a version with the mountains and adding palm trees, and using the font from #20, that would be great. Thank you for participating!

Hey Rick, I like these last two versions you'd done. I thought of suggesting having the trees break the circular edge. I have to say, a pleasure to check and already find you'd done that! I like these revisions much more than the last ones. Let me run them past my partner and I'll get back to you. Thanks for being so responsive to our comments.
You know, looking at your last design again, all those palm trees in a row, it's just so iconic of southern california. Good choice!

Hey guys, trying some combos with water and layouts. Have a good weekend and we'll talk to you later,

Boy, I really like #59. That would be, of course, a very big Palm tree, but overall I really like that design. I've noticed the font in 61 is the same as 30. Possibly a wise decision! :0)
Thanks for the newest work, I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks Rick!
Dear Rick,
I got 15 minutes to sit down with Shawn today and we kept the designs we most liked. We've also decided that we're going to have to bring in a 3rd party judge to help us decided on Monday the finalists, as these designs are so good. Thank you for your efforts, I'm glad you're still with us! - Bob P.
Submitted design #99
Hi again, one design I used the cactus and the other the palm tree but tried to include agave and boulders in both. Hope you like it!
Also in #99, I tried to sneak in the idea of sand and water at the bottom of each logo.
Submitted design #100
#99 with a variation of the font and a horizontal view. Thanks!!
I do like it! I think the last ones you've submitted are the best so far! Also I think the blue was a good call. As a friend of ours that owns another vacation rental said, 'water sells'! ;0)
Your submission is just in time too. I've mailed out to several people to ask their opinions on all the designs, which helps us 'test' the designs for their
marketability. We should know soon how everyone perceives the logos! Thanks again for your participation and hard work, it's been a pleasure to watch the evolution of your work!

It certainly has been an interesting evolution of design that is for sure.
What you said about palm trees being in a row really stuck with me and I fused and older design of mine with a newer one for this and included some color options at the bottom.
Thank you Bob!
Thank you Rick!
