Brief Summary

Looking for a redesign of the logo for a Bay Area music school (http://bradleyschoolofmusic.com/). New logo will maintain some resemblance to old logo since that has been our brand for over a year. We want the new logo to express more movement. Bradley Music Studios is a place where people come for an academic music program taught by professional musicians who have serious street credibility and are cool and hip. The logo will express: 1. Classy and sophisticated 2. academic and learning 3. very hip and cool. We offer the best education with the most popular teachers and cutting edge ideas. Instructors at BSM are professional musicians with their own careers. Expect frequent feedback on this logo design process.

Brand Name
Bradley School of Music (BSM) http://bradleyschoolofmusic.com/ (web site needs to be redisgned next)
Description

Bradley School of Music is a place where students of all ages and all skill levels come to learn a technical and academic curriculum from professional musicians who are among the coolest and most admired in the area. We offer the best education with hip popular teachers and ideas - Learn from a pro - play like a pro.

While we teach different instruments, voice lessons, etc. the guitar (electric and acoustic) and bass guitar are the most popular so that should remain in the logo.

Check out a brief video from our monthly jam sessions where students perform in an open mic format with professional musicians. Here in the video is a young base player jamming with Orestes Vilato (former percussionist for Santana). http://tinyurl.com/266xa5

The current logo is a bit too still and flat - does not have any feeling of action and movement.

- redesign of logo featured at http://bradleyschoolofmusic.com/ - Please don't use our web site as representative of our school - the site re-design is next.

- design should be close enough to old one so customers don't get confused when it changed.

- We'll use the logo on business cards, t-shirts, letterhead, and website (including favicon). If this logo contest goes well we will run a new contest for CSS templates based on the logo we choose

Wants
  • BIGGEST REQUIREMENTS

    1. base it on current logo at Bradley School of Music : don't want to confuse customers with to drastic of a change - web site needs serious overhaul - don't use it for inspiration.

    2. Color: OK for slight variations - not looking for stark changes and we are not locked into that exact color

    3. Elements in logo: BSM, some star type element, some guitar type element (bass or guitar), the words Bradley School of Music

    4. logo needs more action - if that makes sense

    5. should scream: clean, action, classy, sophisticated, academic, serious very hip and cool, guitar/bass

BONUS
- has to appeal to a variety of customers: Parents signing up their 6 yr old, 45 year old rock musician with own band, 14 yr old junior high student, 35 year old mother learn guitar for the 1st time, 60 yr old executive improving skills, etc. The customer age range is huge.

- Looks good on a t-shirt in B/W

- Logo can reduce well to two-color version
