To be clear up front before designers do enter the contest (after reading your brief re: subpages), how many sub-pages do you see yourself needing to complete the site?

    Hi,

Between 5-7 sub-pages will be needed total.

So just to be clear, this contest is only for the uncoded design of the main page. Once we get some designs that we like I'll ask the designers to PM me how much they would charge per additional page and if they do coding, etc...

    Thanks!

Just curious if you are going to pay for the stock photos or if that is part of the prize? A lot of good, royalty-free stock photography could easily eat the amount of the prize being offered.

I've never dealt with stock photo prices before. How much is it normally per pic?

I'm also going to update the brief but I just wanted to say that the business card\template site I put up are just for reference. There is no need to copy the colors, pictures, design from them.

Here are things that are required on the main page, the rest are optional:
    *News
*Save a dog(A small section with a picture of a dog to save)
*Thinking of getting a new puppy?
    *Small area for 'welcome text'

The quotes, training tips, everything else is not required.

The current template I posted is from Monster Template, I'm doing the contest because I don't like the template design, layout, etc...

Thanks for the explanation, it doesn't look like the stock photos would be that much? I'd have no problem paying for some credits to the winner.

    Additional observations:
-So far, I like the navbar\header the best from design #7
-I wouldn't mind seeing some designs incorporating a larger image for the top area like in design #8 as I do not have a lot of text to put on the main page.

Thanks for the entries so far!

We will be reviewing the entries and possibly contacting designers about prices for subpages\coding over the next 24-48 hours before we pick a winner.

Thanks to all who entered, you did a great job.
