    5. Firstly, thanks for all your entries so far.

I added a few "Don't Wants" to the competition brief:

      * I don't want references to poker or casino games
      * The name is BetSpyder, not Bet$pyder
      * I don't want scary looking spiders!

I'd like to comment on a few of the designs to try and offer you all some guidance:

#29 I'm a sucker for clever concepts and the use of a radar plot in a spider web is a great concept - well executed too.

#37 I like this round logo (which reminded me of an Air Force badge) because the name BetSpyder is incorporated into the symbol itself, thereby allowing it to be used standalone.

#59 - If you're going to use a spider then please make it a caricature like this one - we don't want to creep anybody out.

Please keep all of your great designs coming in - and if you have any questions, just post a comment and I'll respond.

      - Andy.

    6. Yes, the idea was to give an ability to use text w/o round logo although giving the feel of connection between them! Please, let me know if you want some changes (e.g. - colours or smth. else)
      Thanks!

    7. Thanks for all your entries so far.

I think some of the ideas that have been submitted are on the right track, but so far I haven't been blown away.. there's still plenty of chance for you to stumble upon a killer idea!

    8. I feel like more care needs to be taken with the logo text - so far it feels like just an afterthought - a strong logo requires more than just a nice font and a bit of colour or gradient.. there needs to be a tighter relationship between the symbol and the name - a congenial relationship.

    12. So, the competition has ended and I wish to thank all of you that have entered. All but two designs have now been eliminated, but I can assure you that I have been through them all several times and given thought and consideration to each - and much discussion with my friends.

This competition was probably not easy for any of you, considering the lack of guidance I had offered in my brief. As a result of this it has been rather hit and miss, and I'm sorry to all those who had their entries eliminated without explanation - some of them were creative and well constructed. Though in the end, my high expectations were met.

I think pretty much every person I've left feedback with has responded to my thoughts with refinements - nobody more so than Shaoren, who has worked hard on on pursuing some of my ideas, which in the end probably didn't quite work (through no fault of his/her own). Nevertheless, after reconsideration I decided an earlier attempt deserved to be uneliminated and be one of the finalists.

I hope you all agree that Shaoren and paranojaaa's entries deserve to be the two that I am now agonising over.

I'm going to sleep on the final two and announce a winner tomorrow - so watch this space! :)

      - Andy.

    13. The winner is paranojaaa - congratulations!

It was not an easy decision to make at all, and I would once again like to give credit to Shaoren for your fine entry and the effort you have expended on producing various refinements.

Thank you to all who entered.

      - Andy.
