MrBobDobolina,
Thank you very much for your efforts. We wished we could have seen a redesign, but I completely understand being busy! I haven't had much time to be on the computer lately since we've been working on disassembling a machine! Good luck on your future contests! -

Thats the same thought I had about the lower section.
I've been thinking about it and I think that my initial concept is not capable of providing the type of site you are looking for.
I'm going to keep thinking about it, but I don't know how much time I'll have over the next few days to really do much for a redesign.
I thank you for the feedback though.

I dont' know if I'm crazy about the lower section of #44. It's kinda...eh. What's your take on it? It still looks slanted too. I don't know if my suggestion about the logo in the background helped either... My suggestions didn't work out very well did they?
What would you have done?

I used your suggestions and updated the page accordingly. Two points of interest.
I see what you mean about the top bar looking like it's slanted. I decided that an easy fix would be to make the lines more shallow, so I scaled the image down so the "teeth" aren't as high anymore. It doesn't completely fix the problem, but it makes it much less noticeable. (It still may have to be tweaked, but I want to give the smaller lines more time to sink in.
Secondly, I am curious as to your take on the lower half of the design, specifically the Service section and below. I have my own thoughts on it, but I want to here what you think of it now before I mess with it too much more.
Thanks for the feedback, it has been extremely helpful.

The graphic with the calipers and piping appears slanted because of the blueprints. Have the lines on the blueprints horizontal and it should fix the problem.
If you have any questions please let me know and we will try to answer them. Sometimes our comments are general and the designers can get confused. Ask specific questions and we will provide more information! We look forward to your new designs!
Don't forget that if people have to read too much text, they get bored easily!

#23: A like the redesigned menu and how you've increased the spacing. The only thing about the header is that it feels slanted. I know that it's not, but it's almost like an optical illusion! The test tubes on their side do not work. Either rotate it back, or try different graphics. It wouldn't hurt to incorporate the mouse since most of the companies we work on focus on animal testing.

MrBobDobolina! Thank you very much for your updates! I'll focus on #23, since that one is the most recent and most polished. The other two are eliminated based on this design (#16 & #6)
#23: Let's move the news area over to the righ hand column. Each news/update item should be a heading with two sentences max. Just a teaser to make them click through.
The welcome/intro area is good but that massive news section needs to be turned into a teaser for the services that you have listed on the right hand side. You can either choose to break them up as you have, or figure out a teaser to get potential customers to click through. Maybe some of the graphics or parts from our logo. Stay brief on the text. The homepage needs to creat an impact on the client. They shouldn't spend forever reading. Bullet type statements as headings or brief text. Does that make sense?

I tweaked the horizontal menu again. It's closer to what I am trying to achieve now, although I still might play with it some.

Here's rendition 2. I changed the links in the menu bar and added some images to the header. There's a few other tweaks in the sizing and spacing of the text.
