    welcome to the contest!

    Solid first entry!

    feedback:

    - comments need to be vertical, not horizontal. it's typical blog format, there will be lots of them
    - this ultra-illustrated style could work, if you accessorize it with well placed image objects on the header for each section. Imagine a megaphone overlayed on top of the "Top Stories" header.. larger than the actual box, with drop shadow.. it could make this clean layout really come to life and give it 3d-depth
    - the photo montage you've done for the header needs some work.. right now it's very loose.. and even a little tall... put some effort into that area and really make it pop.
