- Brief Summary
-
Law firm requires clean and professional informational brochure. Brochure should be tri-fold, double-sided brochure on 8.5x11 canvas. Design should be delivered in high-quality .AI format and immediately ready to send to the printer.
It is imperative for the design to look professional - it can't be something that looks like it could have been done in my home. Other than that, creativity is encouraged. - Actions

I am pleased to announce that this contest is now a guaranteed contest!
What this means is that the contest holder has pre-paid the prize to 99designs and guaranteed that a winner will be selected.
Good luck everyone!

RESPONSE TO LO'S POST
It is OK to use photos that require mentioning the name of the photographer - if you think it makes sense, let's try it and see how it looks!
Regarding the small caps logo - the correct logo is the one that uses small caps. We changed the logo after designing the website.
If Perpetua font is very similar so that I won't notice a large difference, please feel free to use it.
Thanks!

Thanks for the information on the photo.
Would you be OK with (free) photos being used whose license requires mentioning the name of the Photographer on the brochure (in a subtle way of course). This is often a good way of using decent photography without having to resort to commercially licensed material. (From the brief, I understand that you would not be able to provide budged for licensing photography.)
The logo would look best if it would be redone with a proper font containing real small-caps. However, the logo you have on the web-site does not use the scaled down capital letters like the one in the .ai file. Which one is the normative version?
The riven font from those free-font sites looks like Perpetua (a well-known type-face by Eric Gill, which is available with proper small caps). As it turns out, the Riven.TTF file still has the Monotype copyright for Perpetua buried in the font data.

RESPONSE TO THE ABOVE POSTS:
1. Regarding the license to use the MIT Photo - the photo was taken and belongs to my friend, who has given me permission to use it.
2. Regarding the logo, there is indeed some imperfections with the M. The rest of the logo is simple text. The M has been modified from Riven font. If it's easy to fix, then you can do so for the brochure (or recreate it). Please use your best judgment about what will look best. Thanks again, everyone!

Io, I noticed the same thing about the logo. It's seems to be a little on the rough side... The "M" has been put together and part of the right side looks like it was covered up by a similar red like color only slightly transparent. Does this need to be fix for the Brochure?

The creative commons license for photo of the MIT buildings on flickr does not allow for commercial use. I'm unclear on the usage rights for the skyline picture. Can you clarify?

I cannot open the Brochure file. Could you upload it as a word.doc or something similar? I cannot open the file extension .rar

There is one thing that concerns me about the logo you are currently using. The small-caps (capital letters with hight of lower case letters) from the Riven font that you mention in the brief used in the logo type are "fake" small caps (i.e. scaled down capital letters). Hence, their stroke-weight doesn't match the capital R, L and G letters. Consequently, anything based on that logo will look a bit home-made.
I'm not sure whether many people will notice. Just thought you should know.
