Here's my attempt at finding you a happy medium. The men liked the simple gear logo, while the women liked the people aspect of another logo as it appears more friendly, so I tried to give both. You wanted good contrasting colors, and my favorite are orange and gray, but I also gave you the blue/gray color combo. Hope you like :)
Like is an understatement. I *love* this logo! The blue/gray works well for the subject matter as the blue invokes the universally accepted blue of the wheelchair symbol. The other great thing about this logo is that the symbol can be pulled out and used independently of the name/slogan.
