Brief Summary

My name is Gavin Gough, I'm a freelance travel photographer.

I'm looking for an inspiring logo design that will convey a sense of the international flavour of my work with a creative flourish.

Brand Name
Gavin Gough Photographer
Description

I'm a freelance travel photographer with a portfolio of images from around the world, the majority coming from South-East Asia and the Indian subcontinent. I supply stock images to international image libraries and my photographs are regularly used in travel magazines, tourist brochures and in various forms of advertising.

Take a look at my web site portfolio.

I'm looking for a logo design that I can use on my web site, on business stationery and promotional literature.

The logo design should convey, firstly, that I'm a professional photographer so I'd want to avoid an amateurish look. It should have a certain amount of "gravitas" and should be "classical" rather than "funky". It should also give a sense of the places where I work so would perhaps include something that suggests concepts like "travel", "adventure" or "intrepid". Lastly, the logo should have a creative flourish, something that alludes to the creative nature of my business.

Wants
  • "Gavin Gough Photographer" (main text)
  • "Picture the World" (tag line)

Design should convey the following:

  • International
  • Creativity
  • Photography

A colour palette of rich and earthy browns and reds with vibrant orange and yellow could be taken from the photos on my web site. I don't need to see all of these colours but they could serve as a starting point. I'm open to see other colour combinations too but will be looking for colours that complment my work and which are sympathetic to the atmosphere in the parts of the world where I often work.

Design should be:

  • Elegant
  • Well-balanced (not symmetrical necessarily, but arranged in a way that's pleasing to the eye.)
Don't Wants

I'm open to all ideas at this stage.
