    Hi, it's not quite been 24 hours since I posted this contest and I'm enormously impressed with the speed and quality of the entries so far. I'm looking forward to seeing more creative designs and am positive that there will be something here that's just right by the time the contest closes.

    With regard to #17 and #18, I've asked atularora to say where this idea originated from and will wait for his/her response before commenting further.

    All I'd like to add for now is that the speed and quality of the work submitted in the first 24 hours does much to enhance the reputation of 99designs.com and it would be a real shame if that reputation were spoiled by plagiarism.

    I'm a creative artist too so copyright and intellectual property protection are important to me as well. I'd be so disappointed if I chose a logo and found that it wasn't original.

    I will go through to rate and comment on each entry individually but I'll make a couple of general comments here as well. I think including a globe is probably an obvious choice GetGraphic and I have prompted one or two people to go down that route myself. Having said that, I do think the style of your submission is on the right track and, ultimately, it will boil down to the style and feel of the design rather than just the content.

    I'm enjoying the designs which include some kind of creative flourish (#2, #5, #7, #20, #24, #26, #28 among others) and am noticing that these seem to be the designs that suggest "creativity" and "artistic" to me.

    I'm really looking forward to seeing more entries and thanks to all of you who have submitted so far. Keep 'em coming :)

    Well, my only question is did you suggest that the other designers go down the same road as me because you liked it in my design and wanted to see what how it would work with the others? I would say that this is actually the case because lets face it, there was nothing in the brief in regards to a globe concept and shortly after I pulled it out there were comments left for others to do the same. Anyway, it don't really matter to me because in the end it is about getting you, the client, the best possible artwork that we can. Cheers guys!

    Hi GetGraphic. No, the globe idea was something that I'd been kicking around long before I started this contest. I have some logos from a designer made months ago that also include globes, but I didn't think they were good enough for what I wanted.

    I didn't stipulate it in the brief because I wanted to see other ideas and not restrict people to using a globe. Designs #8 and #15 incorporate a globe without any suggestion from me and were posted very soon after your own so I'd doubt they were inspired by yours. The only other design to include a globe is #28, which was done after I suggested it.

    I think it's no more than a coincidence albeit not a very unusual one. I'd have expected to see more globe designs to be honest, given my line of work.

    So please don't fret, I haven't taken your idea and given it to others and I'd try to be very fair and work with the people who come up with new ideas first. On this occasion though, I don't think you're losing out.

    Thanks again for your comment and time spent on designs so far, it's appreciated and I'm sure you and I will talk more this week.

    Well that is wonderful .... I just figured I would ask that is all. Myself being a photographer and designer, It gets really frustrating sometimes when people really do take your idea and run with it. It has happened to me several times. But I feel that it is different here. By simple submitting a design and feedback being provided, others can learn what the client wants, and again, get you the best artwork possible.

    I've been through the designs that have been submitted so far and eliminated those that I'm not considering for further development together with some duplicates.     Thanks Neon. My intention is to rate and give feedback on each design, narrow down the entries over the course of the next few days, work with the designers to tweak their entries and to select a winner at the end of the week.

    I'd like to thank everyone who's contributed, the designs that have appeared here have all been thought-provoking. I'm starting to narrow the designs down now as there are fewer than four days to go. I'm sorry if your design doesn't appear in the final few but it might simply be because it doesn't quite fit in with my business rather than anything else. I'll certainly be coming back to 99designs in the future if this contest continues in the friendly and positive manner that it's been carried out in so far. Thanks again.

    As there are just a couple of days left, I am going to eliminate all but a few entries today to make it easier for me to manage the designs that I think are closest to what I'm looking for.

    I'd like to say though that the process has been invaluable and I'm grateful to all who have taken part so far. The designs have all been excellent and there have been many that would have done the job quite adequately. The standard has continued to rise throughout the contest to the point where I'm now confident that I'll be able to announce a winner by the end of the week.

    Looking at different designs has really helped me polarise my thoughts about the logo and I apologise if I've given some direction which has subsequently changed, I guess it's simply part of the process of testing, checking and comparing in order to see what works.

    It's becoming increasingly difficult to choose between these excellent designs but I do want to move towards selecting a winning logo so will just work with those designers who still have designs in the selection.

    I just want to say that I'm aware of how much time will have been spent, cumulatively, on the many designs that have been put forward and I'm truly appreciative of everyone's efforts. I shall be singing the praises of 99designs so even if you entry doesn't win this contest then perhaps you'll come up trumps with somebody that I point in this direction.

    So, thanks again. It's been a very useful exercise and great fun.

    big shout out for Gavin here, and I hope all will join me here publicly. he has been the ideal ch to all I beleive and if all ch were as reliable and as appreciative and critical of our work here there would be no frustrations for many designers, for which in my eyes there is no need for. so salute the ideal ch for he/she is few and far between :) love to the 99 designs community, this is a great place to play aint it

    Hi

    I must apologise for the lack in progress. We've been moving house and trying to juggle work commitments with packing, moving and setting up at the new place has taken up more time than I'd anticipated so please accept my apologies for the temporary silence on my part.

    The good news is that I've had some excellent feedback from friends in recent days and now I've been able to fight my way out of the boxes I'll be able to conclude the contest.

    Many thanks to all that entered designs for this contest. Any of the final logos would have done the job very well and having to select one was very difficult but I think Neonimage's logo had a certain elegance in the shapes that really appealed.

    I have other projects to work on in coming months and I'll certainly be posting them here when I hope to catch up with some of you again.
