happy to make any changes needed
so far you're leading th pack - I'm a virgin here so bear with me while I get my feet on the ground...
Couple of points about your design... I love the spheres... can't think of any changes yet other than colors... but its premature for that as I have only had the contest up for 3 hours or so...
I would like to see the name to the right of the logo and while i like the font I think I would like something a little thicker or more bold... and I THINK (not sure) I would like the AV to be pointed... where as in your 1st design the A is rounded....
Last comment... I would like a soft reflection of the word below it... sort of like you did with the sphere which is barely visible and I like alot.... you do have a reflection there don't you?

Thanks for the feedback. Yes there is a shadow under the spheres and I can do the same with the words or a classic web2.0 reflection. I will work up both so you can see the difference. I'll change the font also. Once we get the font and layout you like we can experiment with colors. If there are any logos out there who's colors you particularly like you can post links to them and we can go from there.
Borzoid wanted to give you a color pallet to work with... if you could look at a joomla template for me... and select the different colors... I would like the middle sphere to be green and may want to see a random use of the red, blue and orange for the smaller spheres. I'm concerned that it will all be a little to koolaid-ish... but if it's not to much trouble. Also, when I look at the AVSmartz font I like it alot and was wondering if it would look cool to invert the V and use it as the A... YOur thoughts are welcome.
One concern I have is how difficult reprinting will be... but you should be able to help with appropriate files.

Thanks for the extra detail. Here are two versions with a thicker font and the v turned upside down for the A.
The first is 2 colors on the spheres and the second multiple colors. I really think that's too much and you should stick to 2 colors. I think the green and blue compliment each other nicely.
Also let me know if you like this reflection on the letters or if you want it more like the one done on the spheres.

Some color variations using the color palates you provided
I had a thought. If you are going to be changing template colors (either between pages or have the user choose) you could have different logo colors per template. This might allow you to tie into the various colors better.
Yes Borzoid... we are in agreement about the colors... too many dilutes the simple boldness of the logo... and we also agree with you about the green in the middle not being the best for our use.
I sent you a bunch of other comments in private (still haven't figured 99 's system out) but would add that some people also liked the gunsmoke gray of the sphere that dumples used but were wanting me to ask him to add an extremely faint world map to it... we had a show of hands and most want to see it.... what I said was lets choose the design first and then make the changes... then there was a discussion about WHY people liked the gunsmoke gray and it was then that we uncovered that they thought your design was too shiny...
