    thankfully there are not TOO many iphone apps out there..

    #15 I like the left one but not so much the one on the right.
    #16,#17 Nice effort. I kind of envision the profiles being larger and most
    importantly only being the outline of the face... so that it sort of
    looks like the majority of the head is off of the side of the icon.
    Also, maybe a little depth to the image would be good. Floating above
    the background or etched into it??

    I just had an idea for an icon design if someone wants to give it a try.

    Imagine two faces in profile facing each other. One on the left of the icon and the other on the right side each facing the center. A comment bubble exists in the space between them which has two 'pointers' (or whatever you call that extension in a comment bubble). Each 'pointer' is directed to the mouth of one of the faces in profile. A single comment bubble with two pointers.

    Think simple and bold lines with pleasing colors. Try a single line as identifying the faces in profile (just an outline).
