for the contest DO YOU THINK OUR LOGO SUCKS?
Submitted design #28
I thought a director's chair was the perfect symbol of the whole concept of "your idea, you're in charge."
this was real fun and 100 per cent right on target if we focused our business on directing...but I see your point too. I like the chair shadow a lot, but the physical chair is too dominating. or, what is your opinion?
Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. (Design #28) I feel like when someone watches a commercial and they say, "I could come up with something better than that". They're basically wishing they could be in charge of the process. They'd be the idea guy...or.... The Director.
I just thought the chair was a universally recognizable symbol of the ad business. I liked the chair a little larger so it would show up on a website. I think it could work smaller in print.
I'm new to 99designs.com, so any advice on doing alterations would be appreciated.
Thanks, you made my day.

Here's the winner.
save this logotypes, maybe you'll find companies with a more directing touch. this is not really Mypitch, I'm afraid :( But the logos is good :)
Hi,
I'm new to 99designs. I'm wondering if the comment I just received is from the client, or from someone at 99design?
Either way, I came up with the "director" ideas from my days as an ad agency owner. When I did T.V. spots for my clients, as the art director or creative director, I ended up being the director for production. Is that not the normal operating procedure?
Thanks,

Another from studiobudio
yes the comments is from the client :)
#93 is real interesting, work more with the text. Make it more congruent. Good luck!
Hello,
Idea Number 93... Do you have an example of what you mean by "make it more congruent"? I know what "congruent" means, but I'm not quite sure how to make the design congruent. Maybe you mean for me to make the tagline more congruent???
I also have to tell you that this is really fun.
thanks,

I think this is kind of fun.

Another take on the head idea.
it's real fun for me too, but it's hard to be critical all the time and to express ones feelings in words. so what do I mean with congruent in this entry, well...I don't really think the fonts and text format suits the symbol. You have to rethink. Feel free to ask me more questions...by mail :)
ok, skip 109 and continue with 110. this will be extremely hard to explain in english, but think that the background (page header) is made of steel. then try to engrave the head, the text and the brain.
two tips, make the brain more detailed and place the text below the image.
this is probably terrible hard, but try. I think you can do it!

Jag,
How do you like this this one?

Here is a version with no color in the letters. I also converted it to grayscale, then back to cmyk, added a little blue, so it would look more like metal. Then I switched it back to RGB. I also cropped in so you can see the detail better.
Submitted design #141
I made the color version larger so you can see the detail better.
You understood me :D But before I rate your entry, make the engraving lines thinner (like the excellent brain). try a handwriting font and rotate the steel plate 90 degrees.
what's your opinion?
I have a new idea, decrease the use of colors, but continue with the colored brain (try several colors).
Jag,
I will try your new idea (decrease the use of colors, but continue with the colored brain (try several colors).)
But, I'm going to take my time on it this time. I really want to win this competition, but I've already spent a lot of time on this project, and $500 isn't very much money for a logo. So, like I said, I will give you something spectacular, but I'm going to take my time and make sure it's perfect.
By the way, your english is great. I never have a hard time understanding you. I'm an American, but my ancestors came from Sweden some time in the late 1800"s. My last name is Rosengren. My grandfather visited Sweden about 30 years ago and came home with a photo of a large bank in Sweden with the name Rosengren on it. Have you heard of it? I think it was in Stockholm.
I'll be in touch.

That's the hardest thing with this competition. You work a lot, and you only maybe win...and I agree, 500 dollar is not much money. On our site, mypitch, you will win about 5 000 euro. I hope you'll join us and continue your creative work.
A bank named Rosengren, I've never heard about it. I asked my older colleague too, but no...Sorry. But I leave in Stockholm...
So, with your logo; concentrate to make thinner engrave lins, rotate the steel and write mypitch.com with a small engraving and handwriting font. That's it!
Hi Jag,
Thanks for your feedback. Wow, 5000 Euros, that's a little over 7000 US dollars. That's some serious pocket change.
I would really love to come to Sweden some day. I've also owned 5 different Saabs. My favorite was a 1993 Saab 900S. Bright red with a leather interior, sunroof, heated seats, wipers on the headlights... Man, that was a beautiful car.
I'm looking for a job right now, any chance your company needs an Art Director?
I'll do my logo revision over the weekend. I'll take my time and this one WILL be the ONE.
I look forward to hearing from you.
