  3. After reviewing all the submission, me and my partner come up with a few of our favorites so far but still need be revised..
    It is to give all the designer right direction...
    Here are our favorites...
    #8 We like how it catches our eyes but it doesn't really reflects our theme and we don't like the pink color.
    #12 It's simple and straight forward, but we like it to be a little more fun.
    #16 We like how it catches our eyes as well and the characters are just about right in direction, not too childish but also not too adult. But we think it can be simplify a little. It seems a bit too busy.
    #13 & #24 We like how it use Tapioca as the charater, but we think it can be simplify and make it more happy looking.

    I hope these comments will help all the designers' design.
    I know it is a very challenge contest and it's also very hard for us to describe what we really want, but we will try to give good comments on every single concept you submit to give you the right direction to follow.

  4. OK! I just had a discussion with my partner. With the submission we have right now. We really don't have anythings thats really make the logo "ALIVE", that's probably a way to describe it.
    We were thinking if anyone could make the character more ALIVE, like wearing cloth, doing something like snowboarding...etc. Just to make the logo more fun and catchy.

  6. I went with a simple logo, but made it tasteful. I really hope all of the shiny entries are catching your eyes. Remember that your logo will most likely be printed in black and white, therefore not seeing any shininess. That is why I supplied a black and white copy followed by a color copy. Web 2.0 (shininess) stuff can be added at anytime, it's a very easy concept. If you need me to show you the let me know.

  8. not necassarily rie rye,.. i own a dippin dots franchise and they put color on everything to a simple memo to all the graphics supplied to franchised stores. All with gradients and shiny things.. as does dairy queen, jamba juice, maui wowi, etc.. gradients and such make the world go round.

  9. Jamba Juice and DQ do not have gradients in their logo.

    So you mean to tell me that everyone puts gradients and shiny stuff on their word documents? I don't think so, and the reason why they put color on everything is because the logo doesn't look good without color (it doesn't show detail). It's more expensive to have to print things in color just to give it the desired effect. Why not just do it black in white, it's less expensive. In my opinion Jamba Juice did a great job designing their logo, they made it look like it had a gradient, but it really didn't. It was just basic colors added, and by doing that they can print it in black and white without losing the desired effect. They can also add shininess when needed, like on their website or other things.

    There are many good ones and I really don't know how to decide which one I like...
    I am going to need to ask more people to help us decide now.
    Personally, I like many of them, doesn't matter it's simple like Jamba Juice logo or a lot of graphics like the new submissions we have now, I like them all. :)

  13. Please don't make this contest becoming a word war. :)
    I think both of you have some points right. It will be nice to have both color and b/w version looking good on any type of material, but I also think with only color version looking good is not wrong either.
    There is always a way to compensate it.

    Altering someone else's idea because it's show to be favored doesn't make it your own.

  26. I'm speaking in general. The idea of the world "Bobalicious" with the bubbles over the "I" is going around and around several times with people changing the color of the bubles and the font of the word. It's not right.
