Hello,
I am creating this design and just want to know if I am on the right track.
The images have a small mark over it cause it are stock images, I will buy them if it is needed.

I gave each seperate subject its own color.
The images still contain some brand over it, it are stock images.

I put only seven menu items at the top because people can remember only five to nine items max, so seven is average and most common.

I just adjusted the colors a bit to make it more of a unity. It had too many colors. Also I made the borders of the top-boxes harder, to seperate them more.
