for the contest Pervasive DataSolutions Redesign
Submitted design #1
My first try for this contest. Please let me know if I'm on the right way.
If your question is are you headed in the right direction the answer is yes, but, the colors should match even a little coser to the Pervasive.com site.
More importantly this looks like you are desinging a home page so we don't want to "feature" the poducts there, but more of sections laid out so we can describe the group and what they do. Then intuitive link to a "products" page. Love the BUY now tab!
There should be a section that takes users to the product page (your buy now fits that, as well as maybe a listing using the logos you have on the right side, but review the wire diagram, see how the flow is? The first page should be more of a central landing point.
I have some other poeple who are also montioring the contect I will try to get them to comment over the weekend for you as well.
The header you have designed already looks better than what we have, cleaner, more intuitive which is really the goal! A clean intuitve site that drives poeple through the flow we outlined in the wire diagram without seeming like a site for used cars;)
This would probably be a good start for the "Products" page in the diagram, the home page should allow the user to centerally login and navigate to anywhere on the site via a section link.
Also FYI, DataSynch, DataRep, CreditCard, etc are all products, the layout you have is redudant in listing those, the logos on the right should be used as link logos from the main "Products" page to a single product page IE: DataSynch, the logos you have in the centewr are the actual product acxtion logo (kind of a pictue of what the product does). So we would see the large DataSynch logo on the DataSynch product page.
Please ask if unclear, my goal is to suppply as much feedback to the group as I can as quickely as I can, I know that is the best way to get stellar results from you guys...
Thanks I look forward to your iterations...
Still not crazy about the colors, not really close enough to PVSW, but I like the symmetry better
