- Brief Summary
-
My blog site for people with hearing loss and their families needs a sophisticated, trendy logo that reflects the outlook that hearing loss doesn't need to get in the way of dreams. Current logo is at http://www.HearingExchange.com. Colors can change as long as they are compatible with purple color theme of current site.

Hi folks! Thanks so much for your speedy work thus far! It is greatly appreciated.
#1 I really like your design and use of the ear silhouette with a smile. If you would like to tweak it a bit to make the "HearingExchange" font thicker that would be good.
#2 I liked your creativity in using a cochlea in your logo. I don't know how many others would know what it was though. Perhaps it would be easier to recognize if it weren't so many colors.
#3 I don't understand what your graphic represents? It also doesn't have the tagline that I need in the logo. Due to the nature of my blog, a horizontal, rectangular logo as #1 and #2 is more appropriate for my site.
I hope my comments are helpful to all of you.
Thanks again!

#1, I forgot to mention that the ear silhouette should be smaller as well.

The #4 thicker logo type is better, but I liked the first partial head silhouette better. It is a bit more simple and generic so it could be a person of any age. Thanks.

#5 is too similar to what we already have at HearingExchange. I'm looking to jazz it up a bit and have people really notice the new logo.

#6, it is not clear-cut what the HearingExchange site relates to from your graphics.
#7, I like the flair and imaginative use of colors in your design. Since the logo will be in the header of the blog, it needs to be a thinner rectangle so the blog copy is evident within the first fold.
My blog audience has a high quotient of women, especially mothers. The logo needs to be visually appealing and up-lifting to give people hope that their newly diagnosed child or recent bout of hearing loss will not get in their way.
Thanks for all of your submissions. Looking forward to more.

For #8 I like the upper one better, the blue and black combination for the HearingExchange title stands out better. The tagline should be darker, not the soft gray color. Also the HearingExchange title is one word, there shouldn't be a space between the two words. I like the addition of the purple. I'm not sure about the placement of the title and the tagline...
#9 is too feminine as the site is for people of all ages and genders and not just the many parents/mothers who come looking for info for their kids. Hearts are not professional enough for this community site that strives to bring fast, accurate information and advice to its audience.
Thanks so much for your submissions and re-designs.

Since HearingExchange is primarily an oral deaf site, with more information for people who speak or want their kids to learn to speak, the ASL alphabet is not appropriate for our logo. Thus, #10 would not be appropriate for us.
My photo is out of date and shouldn't be included in the photo. I will amend the description area to mention that.
#11 is too generic as our logo should tell a bit about us, thus including a good rendering of an ear is helpful, though not necessary.
#13, #14, #15 and $16 are all good efforts but they too don't really say anything about HearingExchange from the graphics.

I omitted #12 by mistake. The butterfly is too feminine and has no relationship to hearing loss or ears. Thank you for your submission.

Vic08, thanks for your submission. I don't like the yellow, black and red combo though as it is more business and less personal for the many parents who come to my blog. Thanks.

Hi everyone, Thank you for your submissions. I appreciate the time, thought and effort that went into them all. Design #42 has been selected as it was an upbeat version of the logo and depicted the blogger with a hearing loss and also blended well with the current colors of the blog.
This has been a great experience and I hope to use 99designs again in the future and let others know about it as well.
