Brief Summary

I'm looking for a fresh logo for a new baby related website I am working on. Essentially the site will be like a classifieds site for baby items, but will also have a blog, reviews etc.

Baby themed essentially.

Excellent work everyone, I'm pretty stoked and amazed with all the work so far. I will be keeping the contest open a few more days, but am very tempted to award a winner sooner!

  4. vic.. come on, seriously? the lady wanted the tounge.. how about that? you cant honestly be serious about your entry here?? i mean, with all seriousness... that is the ugliest baby picture ive ever seen... it looks like its puking or a mixed version of a dog and the dancin baby on the internet.. and why are you even using a picture of someones kid? at least use clip art..

  6. palmateer, what font is that? I'm not gonna use it in the competition, but i need a good "groovy" font for some flyers i need to design. If you could let me know, that'd be great.

  11. Hey Sean. Are you a Gen X, Y OR Z? Because you sure are not professional in your verbal assaults on this site. If you were professional you would just keep your thoughts to yourself and just design something and let the CH's critique the entries. i've seen some of your stuff and believe me it's not all that. But because you are very young I'll cut you some slack because I ran my mouth when I was your age also! Remember this...It is not to your advantage to try to bring down someone else's work. It just makes you look like a fool trying every lame trick in the book to get an edge. So, in closing I'll take the high road and you, you will either wise up and be professional or act like you just got out of school and think you invented Graphic Design. Guess what, I'm 50 years old and forgot more than you think you know about anything. Now, if you want to exchange constructive feedback addressed in a civil way by all means feel free to do so.   15. Excellent work so far everyone. I have narrowed it down to 3 designers above and will keep the contest running to see if someone else can come along and blow it away, as well as give the existing designers more time to dial in their concepts more (if they want to).

  16. urich maybe you can ask palmteer to tell you what font that is so you can copy him exactly instead of that poor attempt at it. you could at least try a remotely different idea instead of outlining your font with brown and putting a smiley face(and a poorly drawn one at that) in an icon next to it

    do you want the CH to keep the contest open just so you have time to copy josieg too?

  17. fire, hahahhahahaaahahaha i liked the font, and then did a crappy teddy bear drawing. your heart was made with the set that photoshop gave you, then you added some 2.0 glare that you copied off of palmateer. dont try and smack talk when yours is four stars and mine was five.. oh and you can see from #14 I did the outline before palmateer. and EVERYONE knows, when you add a thick stroke, it looks retro.. sheesh.

    Befere you start to have a case of diarrhea at the mouth, I was working on my design since the contest started and submitted PRIVATELY to the CH clear before I EVER saw work palmateer did.

    So let's see...he wants a baby oriented logo and I used bubbly-outlined font? how wrong of me..

    You are truly pathetic...leave us real designers alone and know what you're talking about before you open you talentless mouth ;)

    Go back to finding clip art to put in your designs/

  20. Wow. Look at all the hub-bub.

    First and foremost I want to say that I am rather fond of Firemisu's submissions. Not so much the heart one, but the green ones are cool and a refreshing change of pace imo.

    Secondly, thank you to Urich for your private message explaining yourself. However, regardless of whether you copied me or not, I don't think anything gives you the right to tell other designers they are pathetic and talentless. How was firemisu to know that you were privately submitting your entries to the Contest Holder? You should be posting all of your designs up here just like everyone else. Of course he thought you were copying me when they turn out to be so similar.

    All in all I wish you would all stop your bickering. It's not the first time I have seen this happen and it probably won't be the last so everyone just relax and let the best (and most creative) designer win.

  22. Agreed. It was wrong for me to taunt back..but when I work so hard on my designs it's hard not to. Either way I apologize. And I don't post all of my designs because some people in the 99designs community DO indeed copy and rely on others for creativity and I prefer to submit my entries in private to avoid that. And that is my right. But for the record, similarities don't imply copying ;)

Wow, I have only been using this site for a little over days now, is this high school behavior typical? lol... one thing I have noticed is the extensive amount of "copying" or "similar" pieces... I however would like to give the CH the benefit of the doubt in assuming that they are well aware of the fact that there is an order to the submissions and obviously the first ones would have to be the originals. At least I hope that is the case! At any rate, it doesn't really matter because ultimately in one way or another everything is an inspiration from something else right? Not so much "truly" original anything anymore is there? (for instance thick lines around font... pretty synonymous with "childlike" things) Sorry, just had to throw in my two cents...

  28. for all of you doing logos on a brown background...what if the CH wanted to some day put this logo on a letterhead? would the paper have to be dark brown as well? i was always taught that a logo should work on any background.
