Brief Summary

UPDATE: We like the direction this is going, however we are yet to be blown away by any of the designs. So lets step it up to another level: The prize has just been doubled and the first design that blows us away will end the contest and receive the prize.

***JUST IN: If you know someone who's designs are out of this world, invite them to blow us away, because if they succeed. They just need to mention your name as the reason they are in the contest and you will be awarded an additional $500 for finding them. That's Right!

Designing a landing page that speaks for itself. This is acting as a blueprint for the site so the designs you submit should reflect a style that would make users want to come back as well as understand what they can do in a visually aesthetic manner. Winner of this contest would win long term project assignments.

    I can't open it in photoshop for some odd reason. It says something about .pdf file or something. Can you save it with transparent bg as a .psd or .png?

    Please take a look at this and take note to this layout. the marketing window (contests) is the bottom left shaded area. the bottom right is where "What you can do on Anamigo." The top would be reserved for the categories and your design incorporating the feature sets of Anamigo as described in the briefing.

    Quick question:
    What do you mean by Marketing window (contests)?

    I take it this will be a spot where you will be plugging in different events (ex. contests) and such.

    To Contestants: Thank you for the notice about Moony. The contest is still open.

    Direction:
    The submissions to date are in the right direction however no one has really provided me something that feel like a community. The art selection feels too 'e-commerce' and from a user perspective I could easily have mistaken the site (at first glance) for a child targeted or family targeted website.

    Color Scheme - Please do not deviate from our color scheme, we need to keep our site consistent in look and feel, and since this contest is only for the Homepage, you need to reflect the COLOR scheme.

    just look at the current site in order to gain an idea of what feeling were trying to go for - were just changing some vital things like the homepage and splash pages - the rest of the site is indicative of where we want to be

    Maybe a good idea would be a star rating so other designers will be able to see the feel you are prefering. It will make things easier than digging through each and every design feedback and trying to guess your opinion.

    make sure to read my feedback on all of the entries - to some of them - I didnt write too much - that probably means theyre nowhere near the right design - on others - I tried to give as much insight as possible - those are the ones you should be paying attention to.

    obviously the site has nothing to do with what we do - but they have an eye for design and I want to go after their sleek and sexy feel.

    their site makes you want to be there and click on different things and just play around with it - thats what I want.

    OK - I think this contest is DEAD. Anamigo obviously has a very clear and preset design in his mind, however his increasing inability to communicate this "design" to us as designers is causing him frustration, this much is clear from sometimes insulting personal attacks he makes in his comments. There is a difference between constructive criticism and personal insult.

    I know I may sound like a saw loser (I probably am) but in my case coments like "you obviously know nothing about colors" is not constructive - why not just leave it at "I don't like your choice of colors"?

    No one is going to win this - its the holy grail.

    Every contest holder has there choice of words, it is something you have to deal with. Although i am not a fan of the colors either, i wouldn't say it makes me want to leave the page or that you know nothing about colors.

    Anamigo knows what he wants and honestly he isn't getting the quality he should for $2,000.00 i would be frustrated as hell too.

    I think Anamigo thinks too much about what he wants, where he should think what clients want. And saying to a designer 'would you like to stay on this site...' yeah I would, I designed it ,lol. As for colors, I had a sensible approach and used logo colors which the CH didnt like, i suppose he/she doesnt likes the logo colors too?

    I ve tried and submitted and got way too much criticism to even consider sbmitting another design...

    P.S. 2000 + 500 (for referral) - add another 500 to it and hire a professional ;)

    the reason I use 99designs is simply for the spirit of competition - you can go to the best firm somewhere in the US or abroad - but you will never find the creative minds that exist here at 99designs - that is why I choose to post contests rather than work with 1 firm.

    I still believe that in the next 31 hours I will find the designer I am looking for. I am looking for that gem - and although it is not easy to find - once I find it - it would all have been well worth it.

    zippy - no, i dont classify myself as one of the better designers on 99designs. Nevertheless what does entering in only 10 contests have anything to do with that?

    anamigo - you can find a firm with much more creativity then available on 99designs. Sure there are creative people on 99designs but in this case i think a firm would do much better for you.

    You designers need to grow up. It's 2k, not 200. Put time and effort into it and give the client what he wants. Do you guys really expect to do a few designs and make 2k, get a grip. It's for a design. No slicing, no administration backend, nothing more then a PSD of the site. I think it'd be in all of your best interest to sit down try and try again, and maybe you'll win the 2k you want. Don't slam the client for being picky.

    I think for 2K he has the right to be picky.

    What makes you think designers aren't putting time and effort into this? Asking for constructive feedback shows the designer wants to continue working on the project but with more direction of how to satisfy the CH.

    I take offense to the fact that you step in and try to throw designers down. I have put a great deal of time into my 6 entries and plan to spend a lot more time if need be. Obviously this is not a run and gun contest. We don't need you to come in with your unproductive comments.

    Obviously the CH has every right to be picky. I would be to. I just don't think that just because he is not getting what he wants means the designers aren't taking the time. It just shows a communication breakdown.

    you know what I've noticed, no1 ever wins these $1500 and up contests... who has won one? any1??? which makes me think, i mean it's obvious that any person would work harder if you're getting over a grand than if you're getting 100 bucks for a design, but it doesn't matter because in the end no1 is chosen, I mean yes some designs are a bit amateur, no offense to any1, but i've seen some good designs here, yet no1 wins ... it seems to me that some people just want ideas for their projects and offer some huge amount to get people to come up with great designs and then just leave.     I for one understand what you're saying Lou, but people do receive thousands from time to time. Just look at Anamigo's profile for example, he has already rewarded someone with $2000 for some work on a separate contest.

    Lou - i have seen plenty of contests won that were well over $1500. In addition i think this contest has had more good concepts then overall design. If some of these guys put a little more time into it i think they would have a better chance.

    Zippy - I feel that the CH could get alot out of an interactive firm, so i suggested it. If 99designs doesnt like that they can remove my post.

    If you're not going to try and win, then don't entice people to go elsewhere. It's a waste of a designers time. Send them a PM. And stop spamming this client's contest.
