It's been a time to enhance my talents, if anything positive came from this it was my ability to try new ideas and chalk this one up to being able to improve on my skills. For those who wish to hope, good luck, but I must withdraw all my entries. There is free art and there is art left on a contest which becomes a free for all.

Failure to choose a logo should result in the deposit being split equally with all those who entered by designer and not the number of submissions. Since 99Designs charges the CH they have not lost a thing. If the CH wishes to reenter a new contest they will have to pay another reward fee.
    JUST A THOUGHT.

    Indeed,
but if a ch should have to choose a winner the first (by deposit) contest he holds. So afterwords, they dont have to desposit/

The idea of depositing the money is good and will give designers more confidence, BUT, we have to take into account that sometimes CH won't get what he wants off the contest -- I mean, lets see all the contests with 100 dollars prizes, they never attract a huge flow of entries so CH often has little to choose from and it won't be fair to oblige them to buy a logo they just dislike the less.

I think the problem can only be with the high priced contests and this is where 99designs gotta think of some designer protection, maybe auto watermarking upon submission, or some other way.

Problem here is that the contest holders are not held accountable. 99Designs needs to step in and take care of this problem that seems to be happening quite often. I, too, have been involved in other abandoned contests. This should not be happening. We, as designers, need to demand that 99Designs fix this problem and it's very simple. Have the contest holder pay up front!! 99D holds the money in escrow until a winner is named. Simple as that. BUT if we don't make a stink about it nothing will change. 99D is not wasting their time and energy here - we are. We are the ones losing out!

Time to move on, 99designs has let me down once again. The CH's should have to make a deposit (or 50% down payment) in order to finish the contest and award the winner. This keeps happening lots of times, I mean.. I have like 6 unfinished contests on my watch list, this is ridiculous!!
