Brief Summary

We are building a web2.0 interactive site driven by members - design will be web.20-ish look with great attention to lighting. Site will be linked with a large, all-natural pet food manufacturer so the logo will need to be polished, be virally intriguing/appealing and ready for live action in May. This is not a new concept so it's your chance to shine and stand out (brag) by making this concept/design stand out. To the best design goes the spoils! Plus more paid work for matching icons for the site and stationery, banner ads if you'd like to hang around and grow this with us. :)

  1. Hi everyone - while we certainly need more entries to ramp up this competition, I'm impressed that both designers that have entered understand the general style we are looking for.

    Still haven't seen anything on the thumbs-up theme I mentioned in the spec. That theme will probably have the inside track to a silhouette them, though a silhouette might shine through. It is just my gut - right now - that we need to take a creative risk here.

    As you can see, I don't sleep much so my feedback will be just as prompt and detailed as possible to get us to the best results.

  2. A few notes on how I will be rating, eliminating. If you have a concept that has potential but needs development, i will rate it from 2-4 stars based on how much development it needs for our scope. I won't use 1 star as that is my base for average and we won't go with average. Once you post something that moves the concept along, I will eliminate those that came before it unless I feel my partner may disagree in which case I'll keep both.

    If u get a 4 - ur (co)leading the competition and if u get a 5, the competition will likely be over.

    If I do end up eliminating a first run from consideration it simply means that the idea won't work or the style for this contest isn't what we are expecting and I respect ur time too much to drag it out.

    Thanks to everyone so far - we're 3 for 3 on artists who have the style to do what we want.

  3. somebody needs to attack a thumbs up theme - we've tossed around having a family closeup with thumbs up - we could then rebrand this later with vets/field experts with their thumbs up - just line art and it's only an idea, but we went in to this thinking about thumbs so if executed well, it could garner some attention and stand out - just an idea... ;)

  7. Congrats to jpan06 for your creativity and thanks to everyone who contributed. We could have easily gone with Thommetcal's design which is also fun and catchy, but jpan06's design is more subtle and won out in the head to head with our sample group.
