  1. I should've clarified as well - the $1000 is for design and coding. I realize some designers do not necessarily provide coding so I will say $800 for the design and if you provide the coding - an extra $200. Let me know if you think that is fair or not.

  3. I assume you mean screen resolution? I would say minimum screen width of 800. But you can provide a fluid width as well. Whatever works for your design.

  7. Totally agree with Createabit - I've already mentioned this in another couple of contests where they continually persist in soliciting their work and their website link. Also, if they intend to enter, just enter, don't let everyone know where, what and definitely no linking to own personal site.

  8. As for the coding portion, I believe it should actually be more if it's for coding 2 pages :-)

    $200 just barely covers the coding of one page - (particularly for coders who code to web standards and browser compatibility).... I'd say a fairer split would be $600 for design of 2 pages and $400 for coding of 2 pages.

    Just my 2cents worth from a coder who takes pride in the code they produce :-)

  19. I don't want to lead anyone on here. Nadia P is at the top of the list as it stands. And to be fair in that regards I am going to cut the contest short by a few days - only to give the couple people a chance that said they would have entries. I will make a selection on the evening of Wednesday April 2nd.

  22. photo came from a simple search of istock for montana and using photos form there. I mean should I have used an image of Chicago?. As for the leaf image I used it rather than rather than using the logo which I usually use on the info blocks because of the green theme and others must have had the same thought the amount of designs that have leaves present in them . Maybe the contests should work in a way that only the contest holder can see the entries and they are visible to all when the contest is closed.

  24. I have to agree with Nadia. Looks like a carbon copy of her layout, only mirrored. @dawson, good point, but my designs are not based on Nadia's, mine came from the brief and website. I have too much respect for Nadia and designers as a whole to replicate a design layout. But you are right about robvr6's entry.

  26. People have said a carbon copy layout but isnt that a general layout, Header, Main nav, left nav and them maincontent on the right. I just went whith the colour scheme suggested. Im not withdrawing because that will make people think I did copy but I just went with what I thought right. As for the leaves on the info block titles I just looked around other "green" sites and leaves are a typical used item and the only reason why the gallery is in the same place is because it was a requirement. If I was going to blatantly copy a design as people are suggesting I would have uploaded on Sunday when I thought my entry would be ready. I still think as mentioned earlier it would be best if only the contest holder could see the entries until the contest has finished.

  27. After looking at so many entries and reading the feedback I've given it would tend to eventually lead everyone to the same conclusion. So I'm going to agree with everyone on this one :)
    That's an interesting thought on only having CH see the entries. Would be like me doing a sealed bid for the construction of a home.
