This is really interesting to me.
For the way I want to use it, I have decided the chicken needs to be standing and facing forward. I am looking for something in the face that makes it a bit more humorous. I don't know exactly what that is, but it is for a kids t-shirt, so it needs to be cool, but also have a smidgen of humor somewhere.
I love the birds flying around the head. And I think you nailed the skinny legs and style of shorts.
So the first application for it is going to be on a T-Shirt design. The background is going to be a red star, with the chicken from the waste up coming out of the star, maybe with one arm propped on one of the star points. The star and lettering look very 1950's political posterish, so the chicken coming out of it makes it a bit funny or humorous.

I love the one on the left. If you can color it in and add chickens around the head I think you've got a winner. There probably isn't time before the contest officially ends so we'll have to work around that.
