I like the direction, but agree that it is strong enough without imagery... As per my last comment, this one has merit already, so I think we should just let it be for now and let you work on some new ideas :o)
Thanks for the effort.

Now you've made it difficult! I like the original colours and these! (Probably the bottom one is more appealing) I know that the background concept is difficult to incorporate and thinking about it, probably would detract rather than add to this particular design. I have noticed the positive comments by others as well, which is great to see.
I am quite inspired by these and don't think I want to see too many changes. They are definately in line for consideration as they are. However, I would like to see what other ideas you have. Keep them coming!

Updated colors. Using the dog imagery the beginning of the K is an abstract dog curled up sleeping. I can lose the dog or add other imagery however I do feel that it is strong enough to stand without imagery and may get too busy if more is added. Also the K could stand alone if needed. Feedback please.

Color changes in two variations. Still working on background trying to keep it from getting busy. Let me know on the colors or anything else.

Love the concept! I am wondering how a burnt orange and darkish blue might work with this - perhaps? I like the simplicity and flow, but wonder how it would look with a third element of a background.
Thanks for your entry, and I hope to see more...
