for the contest Logo for new East London-based restaurant
Submitted design #11
An elegant contemporary design and different take on "arches"
Regarding design #11
Hi Snook,
Thank you for entering. I really, really like what you've come up with here. Not sure what is going on in the design above the logo but I like it. My wife says it looks like two people dancing! Not sure I like the mixed font in the words below the logo. Either all lower case or capital T and capital A might look a bit tidier...
Best,
Alex

This logo is my idea of trees growing together to make an arch - but I like the thought of two people dancing...what a lovely image!!
Submitted design #14
Another look...maybe too simple?
Submitted design #26
Simple and contemporary...
Submitted design #30
Another try...hopefully simple and unique - "stone" shapes in the form of an arch

Hi Snook,
Like the change to the copy. I don't care if they're trees or people, it's still a great design! :)
Thanks for all you hard work so far.

Hi Snook,
I really like this one too - perhaps because of it's simplicity. I also like it's boldness. I can definitely picture this type of design hanging from the side of the building.

Thanks for the feedback!!

Hi Snook,
Afraid I like you other design much, much better. This is of course lovely but perhaps more suitable for a coffee shop rather than a contemporary, understated restaurant...
Hope this helps.

Alex

Hi Snook,
I've been really impressed with all your efforts so far. This one is particularly cool. Can't decide whether to give it a 2 or a 3 but have stuck with a 2 on this occasion because I think you first 2 entries were just a tad more suitable.
Hope this helps.

Also - don't mean to monopolize the competition here by submitting so many entries but am really excited at this challenge - after looking at all of the entries is there something you have in mind now as your 5 star design?
Regarding design #13
Hi Jen,
Fear not, I don't think you are monopolzing the competition at all. I'm just grateful to see you've spent time putting together a set of great entries.
As for your question, that's a toughie. Your "Big A" design is probably my favourite so far - as it's as bold as it is chic. I'm close to giving that one 5 stars but that's difficult to do so early on in the contest! :)
Best,
Alex

Thank you for your time as well...I appreciate the feedback and will continue to post ideas.

A design in sign form

Another sign - not sure you thought this design fit your purposes...
Regarding design #14
Hi again Snook.
We're very close to making our decision and very close to chosing this excellent design from you. My wife just needs a tiny bit more persuasion. Any chance we could therefore see what this design looks like reversed i.e. black design on a white background and with the words "The Arches" all written in lower case? I hope you don't mind this request. If we appoint you as our winner we are of course open to paying you for any final tweaks.
Best,
Alex
Regarding design #14
of course...get changes posted shortly. I just posted this design in context as well - might help get a feel for the design as seen from a distance.
Submitted design #134
The original design was a cropped version where I used the box to constrain the total concept. This is the A design and "The Arches" - not cropped.
Submitted design #135
This is much better than the last...

A couple more variations...

Hi Alex -
Well this is exciting. Thank you! Really happy we were able to work something out with this design. Where would you like me to send files?
Jen
Regarding design #14
Hi Jen,
Glad you're as happy about winning as we are with the design. You did a great job.
As for sending the files I guess I need to pay you first! As per our stated payment preference, we'd like to do this via PayPal. I therefore need a PayPal linked email address from you in order to do this.
As for the files, please email me a reasonably high definition version as either a gif or jpeg plus one high defininition Illustrator file to the following email address: alex.moore@snagsta.com
As for extra work, would you be interested in helping us with our lunch and dinner menus and business cards? Do you have experience with this kind of thing? If so, could you provide me a quote for this work? Do you work on an hourly rate or a project basis?
Best,
Alex
