for the contest Logo for new East London-based restaurant
Submitted design #78
I've based this design on an old London street sign and added the curve to represent the arches. (Although there is some dispute which arches the song refers to. The arches under Charing Cross Station or Friar Gate Bridge in Derby). The font is similar to the type used on the "Underneath the arches" album cover but more modern. The colour version is based on the brickwork above your new restaurant in Hanbury Street.

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for entering and for the excellent research. I really, really like but think it would perhaps be more suitable to for a different kind of restaurant serving more traditional English fayre. Sorry to tell you this because I think what you've come up with is great but it's just not the right for our concept.
Best,
Alex

I know it's not going to look exactly like this, but you get the idea!

Hi Dave,
Very nice effect - could that be the S&M Restaurant just down the road from Hanbury Street? :)
Best,
Alex
