Thanks very much for these options. I've tried several times to choose between your two designs but I can't reject either of them. I've also tried to think of feedback and questions for you but to be honest I love your designs just how they are.
This one has my partner's vote but your other one is very slightly ahead for me. Could go either way - I'm going to rely to some extent on my colleagues' opinions.

Any chance of seeing this with the "media player" text the same size as the "mc"? My partner also wonders what the triangle would look like in red/green/blue, although I personally like the colors you've used here.

We had another talk last night and we're leaning towards the other one, but we're having a big voting session in a couple of days and I'd still like to keep this one as an option in case lots of other people prefer it.

I think we'll concentrate on this one. Once again my partner (Ange) shows god judgement - I think I do like the RGB colors. Ange likes the little bit of fun that the stronger colors introduce and I quite like the RGB association with video. I'll still be considering the orange one as an option but RGB is looking more likely.
Could we try this...
- Red/green/blue colors
- Keep the "mc" all blue, i.e. without the red bit on the c.
- On white background, use black text for "media player".
- On black background, use grey text for "media player".
- For the triangle under the "A" I can't decide between green and red. What would it look like if you put triangles under both A's, one green and one red?
- Try the large symbol as you've done it here with black as the main color, but with RGB colors for the edges.

Actually, could you make the grey text (on black background) a bit lighter? I quite like the white text in your other version - maybe try somewhere between this grey and that white.

It turns out the voters did like this one ahead of the other one. Unfortunately it had a few negative votes which counted against it and turned us towards the ones that didn't divide opinion so much.
This is a great logo IMO.
Regarding design #115
Both Ange and I thought this was the favorite to win until today. Unfortunately the final testing/voting session didn't go your way, although both your entries received plenty of positive comments.
Why it didn't win: The symbol wasn't seen as representing a media player as well as the winning entry; a few people said this one looked too generic or vague. Unfortunately most people didn't see the centre of the symbol as a triangle or play button until I pointed it out - I'd hoped more of them would. Females tended to like the strong colors but males weren't as enamored with the three-color approach (other color options were considered as well, not just RGB).
You did get a number of votes to win. Your entries probably made more impact than any of the others. The problem was that they also received a number of negative votes (much to my surprise) so to a certain extent we went with a more neutral option that no one *disliked*.
My personal opinion: The symbol is fantastic and has high impact. It lends itself well to 3D manipulation and animation. The text has character while being easy to read. The whole thing works very well on different backgrounds. It jumps out and grabs me.
I'm gutted to lose this one. I'd love to buy it as well as the winning logo (even just for the symbol) but I really can't justify the expense.
