@Laurie - JFYI - a print stylesheet will remove all unnecessary elements from a page so the design can still be made up to look like any other page on the site, but you link to a print stylesheet that removes all the elements that don't need to be printed. Most backgrounds (like page backgrounds) are not normally printed by default anyways - but it's always a good idea to remove that option via the stylesheet also. If I'm preaching to someone that knows all this - my apologies, but it may be of help someone else :-)
