Thanks very much for the submission fingersmith - I like the size of the image and the way that you've integrated the name of the site into the logo itself. It's definitely the closest to the brief so far.
Just out of interest, is there any way a second colour could be incorporated somehow just to see how it looks?

The size and style of this logo should suit your site well and can be used as a favicon :)
